Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 275 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Travelers frequently mentioned that customer service was entirely unhelpful, unresponsive, and nearly impossible to reach when trying to resolve urgent issues. Many people experienced frustrating flight changes, lost luggage, and a complete lack of accountability or assistance from the ground staff. Some reviewers were happy with the exceptional staff attitude, friendly cabin crew, and smooth flights without major turbulence. A few other people also felt that certain crew members provided polite and helpful assistance during the trip. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the booking options and polite support agents were surprisingly good.

Never again Saudia

Absolutely terrible experience with Saudia. Two months before my return, they cancelled my flight, causing me to miss a separate connecting flight and leaving me with no choice but to take the only free alternative — a 19-hour layover in Jeddah instead of the original 3 hours.
What followed was a complete lack of customer support. I had issues with the visa required because of the new itinerary, even though this situation was entirely caused by Saudia. Neither their website nor the government website allowed me to apply for it, and despite repeatedly asking Saudia to provide a solution or at least cover the cost, they refused.
At Jakarta airport, I found five other passengers in exactly the same situation. After a lot of explaining, we were finally given our boarding passes, and Saudia sent an email to Jeddah asking them to allow us access to the lounge during the 19-hour layover. We repeatedly asked for something in writing for ourselves as proof, but nobody was willing to provide it. No one wanted to take responsibility.
And, of course, when we arrived in Jeddah, nobody seemed to know anything about the email. We were sent from one person to another, left waiting with no explanation, and eventually denied access to the lounge.
The level of arrogance, rudeness and complete lack of accountability was unbelievable. Other airlines provide meal vouchers even for regular long layovers; Saudia offered us absolutely nothing for a 19-hour layover caused by their own cancellation.
A company that creates the problem and then leaves its customers completely alone to deal with the consequences. Never again, Saudia.

€692 baggage refund never paid

€692 baggage refund officially approved by Saudia but NEVER PAID. Avoid this airline!
:I am writing this to warn all passengers about Saudia's unacceptable behavior. After losing my luggage in May (Case c2600437) Saudia officially approved a written refund of €692.00 in my favor. Despite their formal confirmation, they never transferred the money. I have sent countless emails, two registered letters, and a formal legal notice (PEC), but they are completely ignoring me and withholding my money with specious excuses not to pay or dilatory Technique. It is shameful for an international airline to ignore its legal obligations and its own customer service approvals, forcing customers to take legal action to get what they are owed. Now I will take legal action and I will avoid Saudia at all costs in the future.

Inspite of being on time at Delhi desk…

Inspite of being on time at Delhi desk with mother. We were not allowed to travel. And we were falsely assured that rebooking will be refunded causing us loss of more than 1200 USD. My 2 kids and wife had to go alone.

I won't trust them ever.

Saudia cancelled our flight and nobody takes ownership of the complaint

Very disappointing experience with Saudia.

Our original confirmed SV120 London–Jeddah and SV890 Jeddah–Lucknow itinerary was cancelled/changed by Saudia. The original tickets clearly show these flights as confirmed.

The same original flights are now available again, but after calling Saudia multiple times, I have been quoted approximately £1,000 extra simply to put the passengers back on the flights we originally purchased.

I then followed Saudia's instructions and submitted an official complaint through their Guest Feedback/Complaint Form. However, after submitting it, I received no confirmation email and no complaint/reference number.

I also contacted Saudia through their official social-media customer service. Instead of taking ownership or providing a complaint number, I was repeatedly redirected to the call centre and the same online complaint form.

This is extremely frustrating. I have:

Called customer service multiple times.
Submitted the official complaint form.
Contacted Saudia's official customer-service channel.
Specifically requested escalation and a complaint/reference number.

Yet I still have no written acknowledgement, no case/reference number and no clear escalation route.

There is also an unresolved concern about whether the replacement Saudia/Flynas connection through Riyadh requires a Saudi transit visa for Foreign passport holders, including the terminal transfer and baggage arrangements.

The issue is no longer just the flight change; it is also the lack of an effective complaint-handling process.

I will update this review if Saudia provides a complaint reference and resolves the matter.

SAUDIA does not care at all to its customer, they change your flight without asking your agreement, with no more than a simple email to notice you about it, adding long transit time and postponing your date of arrival of more than 35 hours (several time for the same booking). Moreover it is almost impossible to contact them directly, and when you manage to get someone on the phone, they do not understand anything, and are unable to propose any alternative solution. All that at your expenses and without apologizing or proposing any compensation. Actually you are not a customer, you are just a bank account. No email answer neither of course ! TO AVOID ABSOLUTLY !!!

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR A PERSON WITH DISABILITY

There’s no option for a negative 0 star rating, I’d like to give a negative star. IF YOU’RE A PERSON WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITY, DO NOT FLY WITH SAUDIA AIRLINES!!!. I was with my family travelling back to UK. I’m on crutches standing on the queue waiting for our boarding pass for flight SV111 to LHR. During our transit at Riyadh we were waiting at the entrance to the boarding gates at Terminal 2 for 2 hours. As soon as we arrived at Terminal 2 My father asked for a priority assistance to one of the staff who just looked at me and disappear. After more than an hour, the other staff requested a wheelchair that took some time to arrive as well.

I have booked my flight with Saudi…

I have booked my flight with Saudi airlines by wingie booking agent.. my ticket was Kozhikode to Bahrain via Riyad on 03/08/26. My flight got total cancelled due to connection flight cancelled from Riyad to Bahrain.
They didn’t send me any information about cancellation before.
I came to know from the airport only. I got all the update about upgrade seats , online checkin( I have done and collected the boarding pass), and Boarding information,go to gate .. except cancellation information.. really bcz this I lost one day of my work and paid extra amount to buy an alternative ticket to reach back my work. Very disappointed 😔
I have submitted many times complaints and asked compensation in the complaint portal “Saudia but no response…
If they informed earlier I could have arrange another cheap option flight..little early if lesser option was available
This booking agent (Wingie) issued partial refund as they told me airline charged them none refundable tax.

Not a good experience

The slowest website I have ever visited. Keeps loading, won't let me log in, won't send a verification code to my mobile number. A complete shambles of a website.

Worse customer experience I’ve ever…

Worse customer experience I’ve ever had; It is virtually impossible to speak with any kind of customer service. I tried before departure and was told the only way to solve my problem (my non Saudi Arabian phone was not receiving OTPs) was to call a Saudi Arabian number with all the related cost of calling from abroad to Saudi Arabia. As I was in need, I called (and paid) and managed to speak to someone, however I was told that nothing could be done over the phone and that I should use the chat function inside the app for any changes/cancellations, so calling is a waste of time and money. I tried the chat function in the app, pity that the chat it did not recognize my booking reference number (previously used for Check in and copied & pasted, so correct). In addition to poor customer service, Jedda airport is not a friendly place for a stopover. Vera huge duty free, lounges to be paid for and very few seats where one can sit and wait for a connecting flight. Overall a very negative experience.

I will not fly Saudia again after this…

I will not fly Saudia again after this experience.

I had a $962.20 Saudia itinerary from New York to Manila with connections in Saudi Arabia.

The critical problem was a transit visa requirement. Neither Saudia nor the company that sold me the ticket alerted me that I would need one for this itinerary. I discovered the requirement myself shortly before departure, when it was already too late to obtain the visa.

That made my ticket effectively unusable.

For an international airline carrying passengers through Saudi Arabia, I find it astonishing that such an important entry/transit requirement was not clearly brought to my attention before I was ticketed.

The aftermath was just as frustrating. After cancellation, only $374.10 of my $962.20 ticket price was submitted as a refund request, and I was told Saudia could take 8–10 weeks to review and approve even that amount.

I had to arrange replacement international transportation at the last minute and was left hundreds of dollars out of pocket.

Passengers obviously have a responsibility to check immigration requirements themselves, but an airline selling transportation through a country should also make potentially trip-ending transit requirements extremely clear. A warning before purchase could have prevented this entire situation.

I learned the hard way. I won't book Saudia again.

The customer service was extremely poor…

The customer service was extremely poor and unprofessional. I repeatedly explained my baggage problem and provided my account details more than 15 times, but I kept receiving the same repeated messages. It felt like nobody was actually taking responsibility for my case or properly reading what I had already provided.

My baggage was not loaded when I travelled back to the UK. After 21 days, it was eventually sent to my UK address, but the baggage was damaged. On some occasions I was even asked to go to the airport and collect it myself.

The most frustrating part is that 7 months have now passed and my issue is still not properly resolved.

I also found the communication extremely difficult, with some customer service agents struggling to understand my English and not giving me a clear way to escalate the complaint to a senior manager or responsible department.

The overall experience was extremely disappointing. The condition and smell inside the aircraft were also very poor. In my personal experience, even a local bus can feel 100 times better.

I have travelled with airlines before, but this experience has completely destroyed my confidence in Saudia. I will not use Saudia Airlines again.

I expect a proper response from a senior person who will take responsibility for resolving my baggage complaint, rather than sending another standard copy-and-paste response

Zero star airline

I would like to give zero star, but option was not available, so i gave one star. I book flight from Dubai to Toronto via Jeddah they gave. Due to current situation in the region, they changed flight timings due to which earlier my hold was 1 hour 40 minutes, which change to 20 hours. I requested for stay and visa, but rejected, even though airline change the flight. Further to this my return flight from toronto to dubai, they cancelled before two days of travel. I had to book return flight in other airline with higher price. I put the claim, they paid only half of my additional cost. I am chasing for my balance refund amount. I was not expecting such unprofessional experience from this airline. It has changed my complete view for them.

Don’t book Saudi airlines unless you want to experience the worst customer service ever. Wallahi if I could give it less I…

Wallahi if I could give it less I would. First of all, every single staff member we spoke to was utterly rude or unhelpful besides the supervisor of C2. There was an altercation we witness between this man and one of the check-in employees. The man said “stupid service” because let’s be honest now it was. This guy then goes on to scream and yell at this poor man. Yelling hateful sentences like “this isn’t your country” mind you to a brown man and “respect yourself” I don’t think he’s the one that should be hearing that. The respectful supervisior then goes and separates that family from the rest of us. Understandable. All I knew was that man apologised and props to him. But I won’t lie and not say that was completely unprofessional of him to be screaming at a customer because of what I hear was communication differences. Completely unprofessional. My family have spend a fortune on this trip, mind you we have had these flights pre-booked MONTHS in advance. Yet, here they are (not telling us) that they have OVERBOOKED our flight. Not just my husband and I. But in total 40 PLUS people. People that have spent their hard earned money to (very obviously) perform
Umrah. There was a lot of elder people, who not only spoke poor English and Arabic but also had no idea what was going on. People were crying out of frustration, I want to share that a group of elderly women, some who have never been on a flight before, came here with their friends, were separating as some boarded our overbooked flight and some where just tossed to the side. Instead of telling us the next course of action they told us to love from the check in side into the middle seating area. This made us feel like we were somehow in the way. Utterly pathetic. How do they expect to do this to people (from the countless, I mean countless reviews I have read, they have done this many times).
Between my husband and I we have had hundred of flight hours, never in my life have I ever experienced this, and I am appalled. I want to mention that in possibly another other commercial airline they would have 100% firstly, apologised and apologised repeatedly out of their asses, then book us all onto the next available flight, with a bump up, or provided good hotels added with a full refund. Instead we get treated like we’re ‘in the way’.
Never,
when I say never book with Saudi airlines I mean it.
