As first time buyers, our circumstances were less then straightforward. However Luke worked tirelessly from start to finish, quickly responding to any queries, and always with a friendly and knowedgeable approach. Smiths Financial were superb and we cannot recommend them enough!

I choose Smiths financials to help me remortgage my bungalow in Clacton. I chose them based on all their positive reviews online and from the fact I found the initial contact with them extremely positive.

I usually just remortgage my property myself, research the rates online and take care of it myself.

In this instance, I had an unusual situation of needing the mortgage company to pre approve an upcoming change / situation. This didn't prove straight forward at all for me. After 2 months of calling the banks individually and explaining the situation, I didn't get anywhere. I then tried 2 brokers who family had recommended from past use, they were unable to get me what I needed.

Luke from Smiths financials was able to get me what I needed after lots of work into my case. We got close with one lender which fell through due to my situation not being liked by the underwriter. Luke soon had a back up in place.

Whilst the product and interest rate wasn't the absolute cheapest on the market, it was reasonable and acceptable and at that point lots of lenders had ruled themselves out, so there were a lot less to choose from.

I was extremely happy with the outcome, as Luke found me an option when I was losing hope of finding an option.

I really liked the communication via WhatsApp, so when we missed phone calls, you could just message or voice note. I felt this speed up the process.

I would really recommend the brokers. Wouldn't hesitate to use again in the future.

As a first time buyer, I was at a loss at the beginning. I didn't know where to start or what to expect. I found Richard through a social media recommendation in July and messaged to see if he could help because we haven't been the best with money in the past few years. He spent a tonne of time with us before we'd even decided to use him as our broker and he made us feel so comfortable from the get go. There was never any pressure and he was so genuine which was important to us.

A mortgage offer seemed a million miles away for us in the beginning, but Rich made it so unbelievably easy every step of the way. His positivity is infectious, his patience and the time spent explaining things to me was something I'll forever be grateful for. Nothing was ever too much for him. He communicated with us pretty much every single day and held our hands through the whole process.

August 15th he submitted our mortgage application. It's safe to say I was a wreck. Worried, nervous, unable to sleep over it. Whilst we waited for a decision, he consistently reassured me, explained what was happening lender side and in just 4 days we had our offer accepted!!

I still can't believe this is happening. I've cried so many happy tears today and cannot recommend Rich enough. Thank you for making our dreams come true! I feel so sad that our time with him is over, but beyond chuffed WE DID IT!

When I approached Smiths Financial I wasn’t at all sure I would be able to obtain a mortgage due to my situation (high benefits income and small self employed income). However, amazingly Richard was able to obtain me an AIP and then a full mortgage offer for the amount I needed. His communication is excellent and he is an all round lovely person and has been really helpful with general advice re the home buying process (which was much appreciated as a pretty apprehensive first time buyer!)
