Best experience as vps customer
cheap and performant, support is good, everything fine

Pros:
- One of the cheapest options to get a good, reliable server
- Little-to-no compute overselling, in my personal measurements CPU steal times were ~1% under load.
- The new server control panel is actually good and powerful

Cons:
- Networking bandwidth sometimes feels restrictive, especially on their higher-end boxes. I'd gladly pay extra for a 5 or 10 gbps connection, but AFAIK their best option is 2.5 with average *real* throughput being ~1gbps
- Customer service is a bit of a hit-or-miss for me
- Billing and product cancellation terms can sometimes be confusing, especially for newcomers. They should really clarify on the cancellation screen whether the server you're cancelling will be terminated immediately or when the paid-for period ends.

Overall a great hosting provider, I have been using it for my projects for almost a year now and no critical issues so far.

I have been using NetCup since 2024, their servers are pretty fast and support is competent and very responsive when I have needed it. Their prices are exceptional for the performance and hardware you get, very happy with my experience using NetCup. RD

**Attractive advertised price, frustrating checkout experience**

I was ready to order a VPS 1000 G12 because the advertised price and specifications looked very attractive.

However, the ordering process became increasingly disappointing:

* Choosing the flexible hourly-based option increased the monthly price.
* An additional setup fee was added.
* netcup actively advertises a €5 promotional voucher, but only at the final checkout stage did I discover that the hourly VPS cannot be combined with the voucher.
* The voucher therefore cannot even offset the setup fee for customers who simply want to test the service before committing to a 12-month contract.

Many hosting providers encourage new customers to try their infrastructure with discounted introductory pricing. netcup appears to do the opposite: customers who are not ready to commit for a full year pay a higher monthly price, an activation fee, and are excluded from the advertised promotion.

The server specifications still look excellent, but the pricing structure and checkout experience made me seriously reconsider the purchase.

All important restrictions and the final effective price should be shown clearly next to the advertised price, not discovered step by step during checkout.

I've been waiting for 10 days, writing to them these past few days, without success. The machine is still locked, and they only give me one hour to check, which is the time they say.

I subscribed to one of their root servers. I had major issues with intermittent SSH timeout, even while being able to ping the server all the time and very stable response time. Sometimes it connected, sometimes it timed out. I even tried to reinstall the server, but same issue.

The support is a bit slow, it took almost a day to get a response, but they seem to want to help, I just didn't want to waste more time on something that should just work.

The netcup has excellent performance and a very reasonable price. Recommended.
