terrible customer service - no way to contact anyone at Miele
My Miele $1000+ canister vacuum stopped powering up so I e-mailed their repair department and they told me to take it to their authorized service center which was an hour drive away. The service center charged me $580 for the repair and the shiny blue finish on the vacuum was covered with a chemical film and many scuffs and scratches. The power cable that pulled out smoothly was now clunky and more difficult to pull out. I contacted Miele customer service and told them what happened - the first person I spoke with was nice and he said 'sounds like you were robbed'. He took all the details and filed a report and I waited for a response. Every few weeks I would call or send an e-mail and each time I was told that my case was open and they were looking into it. The customer service people had no ability to offer a solution or elevate the case so they told me to be patient and wait for a response. It has been six months now and that response has never come. I called a few months ago and they finally said that it was decided that I should take it up with the service center, the same (authorized) service center that 'robbed' me. The service center that has three names (Hamilton, David's, Oreck) and only one person working there. The service center that charged me $580 to get my Miele C3 Marin to power up and returned it covered with a chemical mist and countless scratches and scuffs. I had asked Miele to replace the canister which looked new when I took it to their authorized service center as instructed and was returned to me a week (and $580) later looking like it had been in a war zone. I never was given a chance to speak with anyone who worked for Miele - their 'customer service' is an answering service and no one from the company ever responded to my complaint.
Premium brand, questionable service: paying for a manufacturing defect
I own a Miele appliance that failed after only a few years of normal household use. The root cause, confirmed by Miele's own technician, is a defective electronic control board — a core component, not a wear-and-tear part.
What followed was a frustrating and, frankly, questionable experience:
• Miele's initial quote for the board was approximately €500. Because this seemed excessive for a part I hoped could simply be repaired rather than replaced, I consulted an independent technician. The repair attempt was unsuccessful.
• When Miele re-assessed the unit, they quoted the exact same board at €222 — less than half the original price. No explanation was offered for this dramatic discrepancy.
• Miele then used the traces of the (unsuccessful) third-party repair attempt as grounds to add a wiring harness replacement to the bill — a damage they attributed to the independent technician, even though the original defect that drove me to seek outside help was their own board failure.
• Their final "goodwill" offer: 50% off both parts, with labour covered. In practice, I am still being asked to pay for a manufacturing defect on a brand that markets its products with a 20-year lifespan.
The logic here is troubling: Miele's inflated initial quote pushed me to seek an alternative. When that alternative left traces, those traces became a reason to reduce Miele's own liability. The root defect — the board — was never in dispute.
For a premium brand at Miele's price point, I expected a genuine goodwill gesture: covering the defective component in full, with the customer paying only for labour. Instead, I received shifting pricing, partial accountability, and a repair bill that feels like the customer is subsidising a manufacturing failure.
I hope this review helps others set realistic expectations before investing in a Miele appliance.
Worst ever customer service!!
Firstly, Trustpilot should allow for minus stars as that's the area Miele are in..Had problem with Miele dishwasher recently. I, generally, do all my own repairs. Needed some technical information on the machine so rang Meile Ireland, or at least I thought I rang Miele Ireland. Got through to what I would describe as a call center......... in the Philippines. Had some bad experiences with customer service over the years you know the ones, Sky, Vodafone, Eir, etc but this one plumbed new depths - I would say well down in Earths mantle!. It was immediately obvious that the agent I was dealing with, had, at best, poor English, and I'm being generous here. All my details, name, address, etc, had to be transcribed via alfa phonetic code, you know Alpha - A, Brava- B, etc. I am not joking here! So after all the critical information was delivered, which took around 15 minutes, customer service proceeded to tell me they couldn't give me any technical documents, like wiring diagrams, etc., (intellectual property) as I could only get this from a service agent! Euro signs started flashing in my brain immediately...Anyway, I informed customer service of the Europe Legislation on 'right to repair' which they basically knew nothing about..All in all a complete waste of time and energy on my behalf...I then thought I'd be clever and ring Miele UK, as generally UK customer service is much better that Ireland. The phone rang a little while and eventually someone answered. The voice on the other end of the line caused my heart to sink, yes, you guessed it, I was through to the Philippines!
Footnote,
Bereft of the technical information I needed, I continued to disassemble the dishwasher. On gaining access to the main controller location, I discovered a plastic packet attached to the machine. On opening the package there was the complete wiring diagram for the machine..!! Someone in Miele could have just told me that. It would have been very easy as all it would involve was talk. Miele = Great equipment but terrible customer service which leaves the solution simple - no more Miele for us...We just purchased a new Bosch dishwasher...
I purchased a built-in espresso unit…
I purchased a built-in espresso unit from ApplianceConnection.com - very nice and high-end machine. The delivery was delayed, but that wasn’t my main issue.
Apparently, the dealer outsourced the warranty to another company, CPSCentral.com. From what I was told, they were never paid because applianceconnection.com went bankrupt and screwed up everyone so there is no warranty pretty much - my coverage that I paid for was suspended entirely.
Bought the extra warranty because any parts or accessories for the unit (…if you can even find them) are extremely expensive.
I’ve been contacted by another warranty company (cya-insure that has some good ratings here is USA) offering a replacement plan-but of course is not free. It almost feels like these companies are all tied together in some kind of cycle and take turn at taking people’s money. A lot of people say that “warranty” is a scam of it own and seeing this I believe that.
Overall, the machine itself is excellent and works great, but the experience after purchase has been frustrating and far more complicated than it should be. Miele should really get better representing their brand here is USA.
No Response even after they asked me to send them the information which I did
I made a complaint/comment about this company a week ago, to be fair I did receive a reply asking me to submit some further information which I forwarded to them as requested, again with this company I’ve still not received a response, I’m worn out tying to get a response, I’ve given up with them all together, they should be ashamed of their customer service, all we ask is for some help, don’t expect any if you contact them, Miele must be one of the worst companies I’ve dealt with
My new miele washing machine bounces…
My new miele washing machine bounces around, makes a horrible racket and two visits from professionals could not fix the movement it makes on the express cycle. It is in the exact same place as my old miele washing machine which never moved nor made loud noise. It is the worst washing machine of my life. It also has an alarm at the end of a cycle so loud I can hear it under the shower with two closed doors between us. So can the neighbors. A total disaster.

Same Defect Repaired Four Times, Still Broken
I purchased a Miele dishwasher in April 2024 and it has failed five times with the same F11 error code while still under warranty. Miele keeps repairing the same issue instead of replacing the defective unit.
Customer service initially promised escalation after repeated failures, but their Quality Assurance Team closes the case and sends it back for yet another repair.
This has resulted in weeks without a working dishwasher, added household expenses, and major inconvenience for my family. Very disappointing experience from a premium appliance brand.
The most AWFUL experience
The most AWFUL experience. Stay away from these rude negligent unprofessionals. Ordered an electro equipment on their website and paid for installation service. Their employees literally stayed 30 seconds and didn't know how quickly they had to get out of my door. And now Miele pretends that I should complete the installation myself by reading the booklet. Really appalling service and very rude communication. Stay AWAY from them!!!!
MIELE REPAIR SERVICE IS A DANGER TO…
MIELE REPAIR SERVICE IS A DANGER TO HEALTH AND A SHOCKING BRAND FAILURE (7 Weeks and Counting)
I am writing this to warn any long-term Miele customer: DO NOT RELY ON THEIR REPAIR SERVICE. After 20 years of brand loyalty, I am appalled at the decline in quality and customer care. Their repair service is not only useless but actively creates a health risk, and their corporate arrogance is stunning.
The Failure of a Premium Promise
The Wait: My 4-year-old vacuum cleaner has been with Miele for repair for seven weeks all in all ( since early september until now)
The Incompetence: After two weeks, the vacuum was returned to me unrepaired. I had to send it back again—wasting my time and has since been with them. How is this acceptable from a supposedly world-class brand?
The Health Risk: I have two asthmatic children at home which they know about. Being without a critical piece of cleaning equipment for nearly two months due to Miele’s failure is not just an inconvenience; it is a serious health and safety concern that their customer service has completely ignored.
A Policy of Arrogance
When dealing with a premium brand, you expect premium service, especially during a failure. This is not what Miele delivers:
No Loaner Policy: Miele’s corporate policy is to offer NO loaner appliance. This contrasts sharply with truly customer-centric brands (like KitchenAid or Nespresso), which automatically provide a replacement while they fix your machine. Miele expects you to simply manage without a basic household necessity.
No Accountability: Customer service reps claim "there are no managers" available for escalation, leading to dead ends and zero accountability.
No Compensation: Despite causing seven weeks of stress, health risk, and operational failure, Miele’s policy is to offer no compensation. - they claim they will call you back but of course no one ever does
The Verdict: The Miele brand mission of "customer centricity" is a complete joke. Their repair service is functionally useless, their policies are arrogant, and their actions put customers at risk.
Do not trust Miele's repair service. Purchase appliances elsewhere if you require reliable, accountable post-sale support.
I ordered a washing machine from Miele…
I ordered a washing machine from Miele paying for the installation of the new machine plus the collection of the old machine. The delivery men said they couldn't fit the new machine or take away the old one. They said it was because of a faulty connection. They left abruptly taking away my new machine. Despite contacting Miele on several occasions over a period of ten days to rearrange a new delivery date I was told there was nothing they could do and I would have to wait. Eventually I cancelled my order, only to be told that it would take two weeks to refund my money (£864). It will be almost a month with no Miele washing machine and no refund. Until my refund comes through I am unable to buy a new washing machine. The whole experience has been extremely stressful and I will never buy from Miele again. My advice is don't buy anything from Miele.
Sell and run.....
Very 'showy' showroom experience that did not follow through into delivery! Terrible delivery experience (delivery drivers that were bullies), poor customer service follow up (there is zero!). Won't buy from Miele again based on this over-priced experience.
Continuous delivery date disappointment on a tumble dryer
After ordering a tumble dryer on August 4th, it was still not delivered by August 26th. Four rearranged delivery dates came and went necessitating someone to be here yet let down on all occasions. Called your customer service each time (45mins waiting this morning resulted in a conservation about showing in stock but not available for delivery. No communication about previous cancelled deliveries. What absolute rubbish service. Ended up cancelling the order and will now look at alternatives
Beware delivery times are not correct!
I ordered a new washing machine from Miele as the old one broke. On the website they say 1 to 4 days delivery period. This is a misrepresentation! The machine is only going to be delivered almost two weeks later. Phoned the help desk and they only said sorry they cant do anything. Would have thought that with a brand like Miele the service would be honest and better. Not the case. Makes me worried about when I actually get the machine and the much publicized after sales service. Not good Miele.
Garbage
We went all in with Miele, tempted by their ads claiming they were built to last. In under four years, both appliances have failed. What’s worse is they charge up to half the cost of the appliance just to come and look at it, and immediately try to rope you into a £59 video call to see if they can fix it remotely. The build quality is appalling and the customer service is the worst imaginable. You’re better off buying a cheaper brand, as the repair costs are higher than replacing it with a new one.
Miele sticky labels
I recently had a stainless steel Miele cooker extractor hood installed. When I removed the plastic cover label around the Miele logo on the casing a partial black line where the sticker had been. I tried to remove this with a soft sponge and soapy water. Unfortunately it has left a visibly lighter mark where this label was. I contacted Miele on May23rd to get a replacement hood case for the extractor
cover, but initially they told me this was not covered by the warranty despite it being their sticky label that caused the problem. They have passed the problem around all of their support and complaints department for the last 2 months and now I am getting no response when I try to find out what is happening. I am only asking for the hood and not the complete extractor to be replaced. This is the last time I would buy a Miele appliance as the support department is so poor
Miele have declined to do anything…
Miele have declined to do anything about my tumble dryer which arrived faulty from the factory,
Avoid Miele if you're looking for great customer service.
Two Months of Frustration and Still No Working Washing Machine
I ordered a Miele WWE 360 WCS washing machine on 14/03/2025, expecting the premium product and service the brand is known for. But today is 06/05/2025, and I still don’t have a working machine — just months of frustration, lost time, and property damage.
The original delivery on 27/03/2025 arrived with visible dents and scratches. I informed Miele immediately, but they only responded a week later. Their first offer was a small compensation (€204), which I found inadequate. Their second offer was an exchange with a WEC 395 WPS model. On paper, this model may seem comparable, but it's lighter (80 kg vs. 93 kg), suggesting lower build quality, and it even had a lower list price at the time. After repeated follow-ups and long delays, I eventually agreed to receive a different substitute model (WWE 380 WCS) and was offered a €100 Miele product voucher as compensation.
Unfortunately, the situation worsened.
The installation, which was included in the service, was done incorrectly. The installers cut the drainage hose to fit the wall connection, creating a loose, non-sealed joint. This caused water to leak onto my wooden floor after every wash cycle. It turns out that the incorrect installation also created a vacuum in the drainage system, leading to significant leaks when using the connected bathroom sink. I explicitly asked during installation whether the setup was compliant — I was told it was. Now, my wooden floors are visibly damaged, and the adjacent wall may also be affected.
I reported the issue promptly, but Miele has not replied for over 6 working days. I’m left with damaged flooring and no working washing machine after nearly two months.
Miele claims to be a premium brand, but the experience I’ve had — poor product handling, unprofessional customer service, a downgrade in replacement options, and now damage to my home — says otherwise.
Extremely disappointed.
Absolutely appalling service
Absolutely appalling service. I purchased a Miele washing machine and paid for delivery and installation. The installation man was rude and surly. He was in the house maximum 5 minutes. Failed to install with any care , did not even check the level of the machine nor attach the water pipe correctly. Despite emailing Miele three time I have had no response and no telephone call Sadly Miele is not the company it was. I will never buy there again and am waiting for a refund for my non existent installation.
P.S
Today, suddenly you contacted me, but only because I left a review on Trustpilot and you told me to contact you by social media. Which social media ? Why didn't you respond to my three emails? Really appalling that you only respond when there is a complaint that is made public.
