Good company, but a glitch in new Android ap
I've used Heymondo for travel insurance for several years now. It's quick and easy, a reasonable price and all the information I need is available in the app on my phone.
On this occasion, there was a new version of the app to download when I opened it. In the new version, I started entering information about my trip and found there was no Confirm button in the screens that enter Start and Finish dates, which made it impossible to enter dates. This occurred on an Android phone. I had to go to the web site to book, where everything worked OK.

First of all, we appreciate you sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear about the incident you suffered during your trip and apologise for the situation you mention.
Upon reviewing this, the customer care team has attempted to contact you by phone to explain the outcome and, as they were unable to reach you, they have sent you an email containing a full explanation of your case.
Following a review of the calls, IRIS Global confirmed that they were interrupted due to connection difficulties and were not intentionally ended. Despite these issues, the team was able to register your request.
However, your policy was purchased on 16 July, after your trip had already begun. In these circumstances, a 72-hour waiting period applies before the assistance cover becomes operative. As your request was made on the same day the policy was purchased, it fell within this waiting period and the insurance company was therefore unable to cover the requested assistance.
We would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to speak with you personally. If you would like us to call you, please reply to our email indicating a suitable day and time, within our Customer Care hours of Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 18:00 (GMT+1), however, travel assistance is available 24/7.
