Guests literally wreck your van
Guests literally wreck your van! You can never work out who is going to crash it reversing or turning or breaking a window part. You have to fight with Goboony to get your money back and have to buy the parts etc before getting the money to fix the destruction. The last people that hired the van then crashed it reversing denied that they had done it, which is even worse, saying the damage was already noted, what they hadn't mentioned was that the noted damage was from previous guests, I literally can't keep up with the repairs. Goboony are less than helpful, there is no telephone helpline for owners (or guests) and they take days to respond, so god help you if you need to speak with them.

Love the site but it needs work.every time I look at a van I can’t just go back to the main page, ihave to put all the details in again from scratch. ie, wanting shower or whatever and the search locations.
My first time and it worked perfectly
Easy to use website lots of choice of camper vans and the whole process of booking is straightforward
AVOID THIS COMPANY!!
AVOID! No protection from this Goboony even if the dispute raised goes in your favour. If the camper owner refuses to pay the compensation they are still allowed to advertise on the site and I would need to take them to court and pay for that to happen!
Non existent customer service.
Ultimately whilst there were no issues with the hire, the hirer advised that there were issues with the motor home in advance which potentially jeopardised the hire. Tried contacting Goboony to discuss options which was impossible and worse they sent me round and round in circles which was very frustrating. Left a message and they never bothered to respond. I would not recommend them, the customer service when things go wrong is non existent.
Hit hard by insurance cost at checkout
There was no indication the insurance would ba an outrageous £1200 (including 400 waiver) until check out time when I had committed to owner and bought ferry tickets. 2 weeks in spain v experienced driver. This is an annual rate of £30000!
It felt like entrapment
Simple and fast.
Use with caution
I wanted to share my recent experience of Goboony as a warning to others before using them to book a campervan rental.
My wife and I have taken our two young children for a two week road trip around wales, the majority of which has been truly enjoyable. There were some issues with the motorhome (broken blinds, bin and table) but I was able to temporarily fix the majority of these and they are the responsibility of the owner, not Goboony.
Three days prior to our final day an oil warning light appeared, so I typed the registration number into an online checker to find which oil it required. Whilst doing this a warning message appeared saying the vehicles MOT expired a whole month before the booking started. I checked the gov.uk site and this confirmed it had expired.
I tried calling the emergency Goboony number multiple times, however it just asks you to leave a answerphone message. I then emailed Goboony and the owner, to which Goboony eventually replied with the owner included. The message said they were taking it seriously and that I should not drive the vehicle until the owner had sorted an MOT. I then responded explaining clearly what our plan had been and what we needed help with, but 3 days later and 2 more follow up emails from myself and I still havent heard back from them.
The owner eventually arranged an MOT for the day we were meant to be dropping it off in north wales (I am currently in south wales with my wife having booked a train for her to take our young children home due to the uncertainty and potentially very long day time driving back to the drop off then home (>8 hours).
I am currently sat waiting for the motorhome to have its MOT test. This is not ok - I was unknowingly driving this vehicle illegally for 12 days, and as a result with insurance that would have been voided should anything have happened. Goboony are seemingly taking zero responsibility for this and rather than helping me in this situation are completely ignoring me.
My message is to approach using this company with caution - they are letting people advertise their vehicles which are not checked for at least MOT validity, and potentially other things. Had something happened I would have been personally liable - potential police fines and insurance liability if an accident had occurred. Not to mention this ruined the last few days of our trip, had to pay for more nights at our campsite and couldn’t move anywhere.
Go Goboony
Couldn't be simpler. If you can't find the motorhome for you on here then you shouldn't be looking for a motorhome! The booking process is easy, the structured payment plans spread the cost out so you don't have to pay everything in one hit, the communication with the owners was fantastic (Carl and Pretty and their amazing motorhome Dolly).
I've already booked the same motorhome for the same festival next year. Would recommend Goboony to anyone looking to hire a campervan or motorhome
Well it helps but its confusing
Well it helps but its confusing when your looking for something particular, all other stuff still apears. Filter does not function well.
Sofar so good
Sofar so good we have hopefully got the van to enjoy our trip the booking process was fairly easy. If all goes well would probably use them again.
They no longer allow you to rent out a vehicle to travel abroad if it's older than 25 years, regardless of mileage.
They no longer allow you to rent out a camper abroad that's older than 25 years regardless of mileage, making the platform effectively useless if you have an older vehicle, as very few people wish to do roadtrips within the Netherlands. My 2001 VW with 120k km is much less likely to break down than a newer vehicle with 200-300k kms. This rule makes no sense.
And at least give people the option to arrange their own roadside assistance outside the Netherlands.
Really disappointed with how Goboony…
Really disappointed with how Goboony has handled my refund.
The motorhome owner cancelled my booking just a couple of days before our holiday because the previous hirers had damaged the vehicle. This was obviously stressful enough, particularly as we then had to make alternative arrangements at very short notice.
I had paid £814.95 in total. Two parts of the refund were returned, but I am still waiting for the final £185.63.
I first queried the missing amount on 27 July. On 30 July I was told the refund had already been processed and that the remaining £185.63 was “still on its way”. I was then told it should arrive within 5–10 working days.
On 31 July, Goboony then contacted me asking for my bank details because the payment apparently needed to be made manually. I provided what was requested.
After chasing again, I was told on 7 August that my follow-up email had caused the conversation to “drop to the bottom of the inbox”, which had delayed their response. I was then told the £185.63 had only just been passed for processing and would take another 10 working days.
That timeframe has now passed and I still have not received my money.
I did not cancel this booking. I should not have had to repeatedly chase for money that should simply have been refunded to me in full following the owner’s cancellation.
The cancellation itself was disappointing, but the way the refund has been handled has made the situation considerably more stressful. Nearly a month later, I am still having to pursue Goboony for £185.63 of my own money.
I hope this is now resolved urgently.
The communication with this company is atrocious
The communication with this company is absolutely useless. Might work well if everything goes ok but when things go wrong trying to get them to even reply to your email let alone help is near impossible. How can you operate a company and service like this when people cannot get hold of you in an emergency Quick enough to remind you to pay. I will definitely not use again or recommend anyone.
Generally OK
Generally OK. All very procedural. Not entirely what I expected, some may love it. Worthwhile experience. No complaints really, but won't use again.
Easy booking.
I had a good experience with GOBOONY. It was easy to connect with the owner of the van we were looking to rent and ask questions. It would be good to have more info about what is included inside the van for holiday prep purposes. Also, we did need to know if we could leave our car when we collect the van and that wasn’t stated.
They were very good at advertising…
They were very good at advertising motorhomes, very good at taking my money, but then it's been appalling. My deposit is held up apparently because I returned the motorhome with mud on the wheel arch. I've waited three weeks, with the only communication being 'we will have to wait for the advertiser to upload documents'. I asked the obvious question - how long do I have to wait for the advertiser, and now they are ignoring me. There is no phone number that gets you through, I called it and the automated response said my number wasn't on their system so it will not put me through. I am now going to have to go down the legal route to get my money back. I have noticed that recent reviews are poor, so be very careful and I would strongly suggest avoiding using Gaboony as they offer zero support to customers. My booking reference in case Gaboony actually wants to do something to help - AA08A8
Needs work
1. It remains to be seen since my rental has not yet taken place.
2. Customer Services was unable to answer my query because the app only captured the first few words of my question. The app therefore needs improving.
2. Requesting feedback prior to the rental taking place is to misuse my details, ie at a point when it can't fully reflect my experience of the service.
