Review of UberEATS

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

How can they charge you more than what is shown on the screen when you place an order?

Wow. It's the 1st time I've looked on here and I can really understand why it's so bad!

I regularly have an item or two missing (even more on some supermarket orders) but they have always refunded anything that didn't arrive. That's if i even bothered to claim. They did recently tell me just to give the restaurant a bad review if something is missing!

There was another time they said i claimed too often and refused my refund but they did pay in the end after an argument.

I always believed it was just down to the individual restaurants but when I thought about it, I don't seem to have the same problems with the other takeaway apps. It makes no sense to me as to why but I never left a review because of that.

Anyway, this time the cost i paid through paypal was almost 30% more than what was on the screen when I made the order. I thought maybe it was a oneoff until I looked on here and read some of the bad reviews saying it's happened to other customers too!

I've been waiting for over 2 days for them to respond to my complaint. They keep asking me for a photo, but a photo of what? Maybe i'm naive but I didn't realise I am supposed to save a screenshot of the price on my phone just in case they decide to charge me more. I'm really not sure what they do is legal but at the end of the day, I have no proof so I suppose it is what it is. They must make a fortune over the millions that use their app and there's nothing you can do about it without proof!

It's hillarious when they ask for a photo of a missing item. I did once take a photo of my empty kitchen top and send them that before they eventually refunded.

Just Eat and deliveroo are so much more reliable but their offers aren't usually quite as good. I can see why now. They have definitely gone downhill so I suppose I'll just have to boycott them now. It's their loss, there's so much choice nowadays...

Just an quick update... just eat and deliveroo have worse ratings than Uber eats. I am so shocked.

Easy transaction (in the end) but be careful with what AI tells you folks 😉

Easy transaction (in the end). I gave it 4 stars because of AI so be careful out there. AI told me that i could still get the free samsung tablet with fonehouse but it turned out to be wrong. AI was very apologetic (as per usual 😉) but my 4 stars for fonehouse is because they just said, if you're not happy, send it back but i had already opened it and set it up at this point. I realise it wasn't their fault and I'm not sure what i expected but it was part of the reason i chose it so anything would have helped. Freebies are never free folks!

Review of Cushon

Misleading info on regular withdrawals—unfit for retirement income. Retirees beware!

Before transferring my funds and accessing my pension, I explicitly asked Cushon's customer service if their platform supported automated, regular monthly UFPLS withdrawals. I was assured it did. Only after making my first withdrawal was I told that their system cannot actually automate this process at all.
Instead, I am forced to log in and request my money manually every single month. Because it's treated as a manual payment, they default to an emergency "Month 1" tax code on every single transaction, completely ignoring my actual HMRC tax code. This leaves me stuck in a loop of constantly overpaying tax and chasing HMRC for monthly refunds. On top of that, my first manual withdrawal request came through short due to system calculation errors. Also manual withdrawals take up to two full weeks to clear.
Forcing retirees into complex workarounds just because their app lacks basic retail payroll technology is entirely unacceptable. It lioks like i have to transfer my entire pension pot to a modern provider that can actually handle automated payments and tax codes correctly. Avoid this platform if you want a reliable monthly retirement income when you retire. They want your money but make it complicated to take it when you need it. What a shame.

Great idea for the elderly but too expensive.

Great idea for the elderly if they don't have the freezer space but too expensive for the meals. For the quality and size they should be around the £3-£3.50 mark. I feel £4.50 is a lot for a pensioner nowadays. If you had regular offers with a decent advertising campaign, I'm sure more customers would follow... or maybe i just found you at the wrong time?

Dear Chris,

Thank you for getting in touch with us here at Parsley Box

I’m sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our prices. Our team have been working closely with suppliers and our distribution centre to keep the costs of our products low, but we can not absorb all of the inflationary pressure in ingredients and distribution. Due to this, we made the difficult decision to increase our prices in April of this year.

We will continue to do everything we can to keep our prices as low as possible going forward. Don't forget - you'll always save money with Parsley Box due to our quick cooking times and cupboard storage. We also continue to have an Everyday Low Price range, which offers a range of lower priced meals without a decrease in quality.

I hope this helps, should you have any further queries you are welcome to get back in touch.

Kind Regards,
Nathan at Parsley Box

Review of Ideal World

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Dormeo Hybrid mattress.

I bought the hybrid mattress from ideal world and it started very comfortable. We initially raved about it to all our friends and family. However, after about a year, i noticed i was getting hip pain. I initially put it down to age (or worse). A few months later I noticed a slight dent in the mattress. I twisted the mattress the other way around and my wife slowly started to get back pain. Twisted it back and my hip pain is back. The dent has slowly got worse and you can feel the spring under the memory foam has no bounce back at all. I seem to remember that ideal world were really selling it based on the amazing guarantee so i emailed Dormeo. They said that i needed to use a different contact (i guess for ideal world sales) and they simply messaged back saying I only got a 12 month guarantee if bought from Ideal world. Dormeo themselves talk about a 15 year warranty so i can can only guess that they sell inferior mattresses through Ideal World with a limited warranty. Very crafty! Don't fall for it, the guarantee they push is just for returning it if you don't like it (and you initially will). I now have to look for another mattress and would certainly not recommend Dormeo or Ideal World to anyone else.

Don't buy the hybrid mattress! (Or maybe avoid Dormeo through 3rd party?)

Waste of money, although very comfortable short term so maybe buy one and replace it every year or two?

UPDATE: Just for clarity, i sent a reply to Dormeo's comment straight away but then i heard nothing else from them. I see that a lot on Trustpilot. I would hate for anyone to think I got it sorted.

Watch the hard sell and watch they don’t sneak on extra’s!

i Visited the store twice before actually buying anything. My first visit was in my “tip” car (an OLD Vauxhall I bought for the space when I was moving house) When I looked at one of the more expensive suites he stressed that it was expensive as if I couldn’t afford it. The second time I visited I went in my proper car. I’m not trying to brag here but my car Does stand out and I was treated very different. The same salesman actually took me to the more expensive suite. I was also watching another salesman with an older couple and he was persuading them into every extra on offer. This all really annoyed me so I left.

I actually bought what I wanted online and to be honest it was very easy. No hard sell and I was quite happy although was a little shocked When they said it was 14-18 weeks before delivery. I still ordered it but when the invoice came through they had added a £50 leather cleaning kit without asking me. I emailed them to remove it but I am still waiting for a response.

It’s not the money that is annoying me, is the fact that I bet they do this to everyone and because it’s a small % of the outlay, they just don’t query it. Anyway i’m Expecting not to hear anything and at least I have a few weeks to get it removed.

flowers were very short lived.

I would expect flowers on a £55 order to last a couple of weeks but they were looking very poor after only a couple of days. In fact they were in the bin after 5 days.

VERY disappointing... 😒
