Review of Town Fair Tire Centers, Inc
They had no idea what they were doing.
TFT has been around a long time and I've heard many good things about it. Unfortunately it seems as if they've changed. I brought my car in for 5 simple requests:
1) match a lower tire price I found (their policy)
2) replace 2 tires
3) install new lug nuts
4) switch places of my spare and left-rear tires
5) call or text me when my car is ready
Sad to say they failed at all 5. Here's how:
1) The person who made my appt. lost the ad for the cheaper price, and tried to charge me $30 extra. After speaking to the manager I received a discount, but not the price match which I was promised.
2) Although 2 new tires were installed, they were placed on the front wheels. Their own safety brochure states that they should've been placed on the rear wheels of a 4x4 vehicle. No biggie, but still.
3) Not only was I left with my old lug nuts, but they only put 17 or 18 out of the 20 back!! After going back and having them put the new ones on again, they lost 2 of those too. They handed me (not installed) 2 similar ones that I had to put on myself.
4) They did not switch places of the 2 tires which I requested. I even wrote in chalk "switch" on them! I needed them switched to pass state inspection. Luckily they managed to switch them on my 3rd visit.
5) After waiting hours for a text or call that never came, I called back myself and was told my car had been "ready" for a while. I was told everything was completed successfully, but as explained above, it definitely was not.
The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the manager understood the problem, was very professional, and tried to help as much as he could. HE EVEN ADMITTED TO ME THAT HIS EMPLOYEES ARE NEW AND NOT USED TO THEIR JOBS YET! HE ALSO ADMITTED THAT ANOTHER CUSTOMER WAS COMPLAINING OF MISSING NUTS AND TPMS SENSORS. It's a shame, since there are so many people looking for a job who know how to install a tire right the first time.
I will NOT be returning for service.
