🗞️ 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗼 × 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿 🗞️ Airalo is the world’s leading eSIM provider, making global connectivity effortless for the 30 million travelers across 200+ destinations that use its services. The company has grown rapidly since launching in 2019. As it did, payments had to work reliably, but there was little opportunity to optimize the customer experience or the economics behind each transaction. “Until recently, payments were at a very nascent stage," says Siranjani S., Head of Payments at Airalo. "There is a lot we can do to improve the customer experience and, from a finance perspective, optimize the economics of every transaction." Airalo brought in Primer to build the foundation for that change, turning payments into a lever for profitability, performance, and future growth. Since going live with Primer, Airalo has: ✅ Reduced payment processing fees by 30% in three months through smarter routing across its merchant accounts ✅ Built a test-and-learn culture around payments, using granular data to validate assumptions before rolling out changes more widely ✅ Cut the time it takes to investigate detailed payment questions from weeks to minutes with AI Companion ✅ Established a future-proof payments foundation to add new providers, payment methods, and capabilities, with minimal engineering lift "Primer gives us the infrastructure to transform our approach, driving immediate cost and performance gains while giving us the flexibility to keep innovating as Airalo grows,” Siranjani adds. Read the case study to learn more about how Airalo is using Primer to turn payments from a cost of growth into a source of customer and commercial advantage. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eAb2abea Tudor Munteanu | Antanas Dapkus | Gabriel Le Roux | Max Purle | Pedro C. | Theo Spyrides | Jeffrey L.

September is often when the next year starts to come into focus. For payments teams, that means looking at the roadmap and thinking about what the business will need next. That might mean entering new markets, supporting additional payment methods, or adding providers to improve coverage, performance, and resilience. The more ambitious the roadmap becomes, the more important it is to understand whether the payments infrastructure behind it can support those plans. Our Product Operations Manager, Mohamed AZIZ, ran into this at his previous company, where a growing list of payments requirements led the team to rethink the infrastructure underneath them. He shares how they approached that decision and what they considered along the way. If you’re thinking about your 2027 payments roadmap, this is worth a read: https://lnkd.in/eQeZbeJy

“The ability to build and manage our own integration without relying on external engineering. That’s music to my ears.” That’s what Checkout.com’s Global Head of Partnerships Matthieu Barral had to say about Primer for Partners. This is not a reverse API. Now, Checkout.com fully owns its integration through a no-code builder. The result? New capabilities can go live in as little as five minutes, without coordinating across teams, roadmaps, or engineering priorities. For Checkout.com, the ability to respond that quickly to what merchants need is a meaningful advantage. Read more about Checkout.com’s success with Primer for Partners here: https://lnkd.in/e99Wsg4W

Last year, we launched Primer for Partners: our no-code platform that enables payment services to build their connection directly into Primer, making it available to Primer’s global merchant base. Leading payment providers, including Checkout.com, dLocal, and Paysafe, are already using Primer for Partners to take control of their integrations, deliver new features faster, and use real-time performance data to identify optimization opportunities. Merchants benefit, too. Once new providers and features go live on Primer, merchants can use them through their existing integration, without having to do any additional development work. “When merchants and providers connect through Primer, both sides grow faster,” says Gabriel Le Roux, our Co-Founder and CEO. Watch the video below to learn more. If you provide payment services to merchants and would like to explore Primer for Partners, get in touch: https://primer.io/partners https://lnkd.in/eiWzHtdJ

Thank you Riskified for having us at Ascend China in Suzhou last week. Jeffrey L. joined the panel "𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥: 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵" to talk about what it takes for merchants expanding out of China to adapt their payments setup to different providers, regulations, and fraud patterns as they enter new markets. That’s a challenge we know well at Primer. We give merchants the flexibility to work with the providers and tools that make sense for each market, without making the underlying setup increasingly harder to manage as they grow.

🗞️ 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗼𝘂𝘁.𝗰𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 🗞️ Taking advantage of Primer for Partners was a “no-brainer” for Matthieu Barral, Global Head of Partnerships at Checkout.com. And here's why: The pioneering model means that Checkout.com now has full end-to-end control of its integration with Primer. Its team can make changes and launch new capabilities for shared merchants on its own timeline. As merchant needs evolve, Checkout.com can respond just as quickly. Its team can configure, test, and launch new capabilities directly in the Primer for Partners portal, without writing any code. Since going live on Primer for Partners, Checkout.com has already expanded the payment options available to our shared merchants, including Maisons du Monde, and used the unique insights Primer for Partners provides to uncover opportunities to boost payments performance. “The deeper we went in payments, the more we found ourselves turning into a payments company rather than focusing on creating the world’s best destination to book ferry travel.” That was the experience of Ferryhopper’s CPO and Co-founder, Panagiotis Sarafis, as its payments stack grew more complex alongside a fast-growing business. Rather than continue to invest in the engineering resources and expertise to build its infrastructure in house, Ferryhopper chose Primer. It gave the team total control over its payments roadmap, without requiring it to own and maintain every layer of infrastructure underneath. That, in turn, has allowed Ferryhopper to stay focused on its core business: building the world’s best destination to book ferry travel, contributing to its continued growth. Building a payments infrastructure that performs at a global scale takes considerable investment and expertise. It has to seamlessly support different providers, payment methods, markets, and customer journeys, while delivering the performance, reliability, and flexibility an enterprise business requires. So should a merchant build and maintain that infrastructure themselves, or use a specialist platform built to do it? In the latest episode of Payments Unfiltered, Gabriel Le Roux and Theo Spyrides explore that question. They unpack what it takes to build a flexible, highly performant payments infrastructure that supports some of the world's biggest businesses, and why, for most merchants, recreating it internally is rarely the right use of their resources. 🎙️ Watch the full episode: https://lnkd.in/ebFj-NBp
