Three months ago, I shared that we were building Kick's Business team in Toronto. Today, we've added 4 people and recently moved into our downtown office on Richmond. Jason Mayordomo joined in November as our Founding CX Lead to run our Internal Bookkeeping Firm. He previously built Wave Advisors from scratch. Gabrielle Hicks joins from Shopify as our second Account Executive alongside Logan. She's spent years helping small businesses across the US, and will continue that work along with working directly with Accountants. Ryan Orr, CPA left KPMG to give small businesses and their Accountants access to Big 4 expertise. He'll help hundreds of business owners with their financials on our Accounting software, making tax season stress free. Umer Farooqi, CPA is a former PM who ran his own bookkeeping business. He'll work directly with business owners and their Accountants, bringing both a product-thinking and firm owner mindset. Logan Kieller continues to set the bar as our Founding AE helping advise business owners and provide referrals to Accountants in our network. Toronto talent is no joke. Every conversation we have proves why this city is the right place to build. We're locked and loaded for tax season. And we're not done. Next up is building the team that will work with thousands of bookkeepers and accountants to modernize their firms. 👀 If you think you can help, DM me.

Kicking off the Jason On Firms Live tour in Austin 🤠 The team at Kick are big Jason Staats, CPA fans so when we heard he was doing an event today with 80 forward thinking firms, we had to come out. If you’re in Austin, Conrad and I are hanging out throughout the day. We’re here to chat with firms interested in the shift to AI-native accounting software. PS. Great to be supporting the Austin leg, alongside Ted from MakersHub.

Kick just raised more to build the accounting firm of the future. 12 months ago, Kick launched as "accounting software that does the work for you." Today, over 3,000 businesses (including Jason Feifer, Chris Hutchins, Marina Mogilko and Shaan Puri) trust us with their books. But here's what gets me even more excited: 1 Bookkeeper at Kick can now manage 311 businesses. This is 10x the industry standard of 1:30. How we did it: - Built our own fast, accounting ledger - Automated categorization, document import and reconciliation workflows - Integrated directly with Stripe, Gusto, Ramp, PayPal and 12k banks via Plaid - Focused on annual close vs. monthly, with firm partners for specialized needs The result? Bookkeeping at half the price, with higher margins. Why this matters for firms: - Traditional firms typically have 20-30% margins and are valued at 1x revenue. - AI-native firms are hitting 40-60% margins and commanding 3x revenue multiples. - The firms embracing AI across their stack aren't just surviving, they're thriving. The shift I'm seeing: → Domain expertise is becoming more valuable as AI handles routine work → Owning the full client relationship unlocks cross-sell opportunities and leverage to improve your margins → Your team evolves from preparers to reviewers → Brand matters more as you move upmarket into advisory To enable more firms to make the shift, today we're announcing our first Launch Week: 1. We'll be releasing a new feature every day, beginning with Reconciliation. 2. We're launching our Accountant AI Program made for Bookkeeping, Accounting and Advisory firm owners. We're going to be accepting 5 new firms every week from our 1,000 firm waitlist. Benefits include free training and migrations, Slack access, free bookkeeping, custom pricing, and client referrals. Huge thanks to Echo Zhong, CPA Anthony Sanchez, CPA (Zhong & Sanchez), Stephen Pennington (NFS), Scott Hoover (Hoover Financial), Eoin Coney Andrew Weinhardt (Blubooks), Tapan R. (Otterz) and Ron Saharyan Billie Anne Grigg (Profit First Professionals) and more who have turned to Kick to scale their firms. Also thanks to Felicis and GV (Google Ventures) for leading this round and taking us up to $20M raised, as well as General Catalyst and OpenAI Startup Fund for their continued support. The future of accounting is here. It just isn't evenly distributed yet. If you’re ready to modernize, comment ‘Ready’ and I'll DM you a code to get Kick for 3 months free for you or your clients.

One thing we've learned building Kick: businesses need answers on their schedule, not ours. That's why today we're launching our Help Center.
