Should Be Skoda Disconnect Services
Skoda Connect - what a waste of time! Frequently fails to work without any explanation from Skoda. The latest issue is that Skoda are now bombarding me with emails telling me that certain functions are not working because the settings have changed - but the settings are the same as they always have been. Very poor from Skoda - even though it is currently free it is not even worth that!
Tasha at Wings Skoda Peterborough has…
Tasha at Wings Skoda Peterborough has gone above and beyond to help me get my car fixed with a reoccurring air con issue. I had previously tried to get it fixed at the garage I bought the car from but they didn’t want to know and re directed me to the main deal as the the car was under warranty. Tasha went above and beyond to ensure that the car was looked at within the warranty period so the work could be done under warranty.
The level of incompetence and lack of…
The level of incompetence and lack of customer care from both Skoda UK and the local dealership is appalling. I expected far better reliability and support from a major brand.
Avoid Skoda if you value vehicle reliability, customer safety, and competent after-sales support.
Very disappointing experience – issue still unresolved
My Škoda Enyaq developed serious faults and loss of power shortly after being returned to me following service/recall and software work. Despite contacting the dealership, Škoda Customer Services and the RAC, the issue is still not resolved and I have been left unable to properly use the car for nearly two months while still paying for it. Very poor customer service and an unacceptable experience.
Delighted with my used Octavia…
Delighted with my used Octavia purchased from Ipswich Skoda. Competitive pricing and efficient service. This is my third Skoda. A quality car.
This service was refreshing after disappointing service pricing at my local Salisbury main dealer.
Will never buy Skoda again
Really disappointed! The whole experience has been a shambles from the start.
I spent ages finding the right car, specification and colour that I wanted, and I was promised it was a great car. Unfortunately, it’s definitely not lived up to those expectations.
When I picked the car up from Bolton Skoda, I was told it had had every check under the sun before I took it away. However, as soon as I got home, I noticed that the wing mirrors weren’t working when trying to tilt them, which turned out to be an electrical fault. I also discovered that the front tyres were bald and illegal.
Bolton Skoda were good at closing the deal and, when these issues were raised, they did resolve the bald tyres and wing mirror electrical fault. However, I’m extremely annoyed that these issues were present in the first place, particularly when I had been assured that the car had undergone thorough checks before collection. I also know I’m not the only customer from the Bolton branch who has left with illegal, bald tyres and then had to return for replacements.
Five months later, I now have another electrical fault, this time with the headlight. Thankfully, the £2,000 repair is being covered under warranty, but it’s incredibly concerning that I’ve had another major electrical problem only five months into owning the car.
I asked the manager whether the warranty could be extended as a gesture of goodwill, given everything that has happened, but I was told this wasn’t possible. I now have six months left on the warranty and am understandably worried about receiving a massive bill for the next electrical fault once it expires. I’m also now being told that I need to pay £600+ a year for a service plan in order to get the additional two-year warranty.
The current headlight issue has also left me without a car for two weeks. The replacement part is on order and, without it, the car will fail its MOT, meaning I can’t drive it. I appreciate this isn’t Rochdale’s fault, and the Rochdale team have been great so far. I genuinely can’t fault their service in dealing with the headlight issue, and I definitely trust them more than the team who supposedly checked my car at Bolton before I was handed the keys. I’m actually glad I’ve taken the car to Rochdale rather than returning it to Bolton.
However, I had already been waiting five weeks for a response from the Bolton team regarding the headlight issue. Had they responded sooner, this could potentially have been dealt with before the MOT was due, rather than leaving me without a car for two weeks. There is also currently no courtesy car available until at least next week.
My main concern is why a full diagnostic wasn’t carried out before the car was sold to me and why these issues weren’t picked up when I was specifically told the car had undergone extensive checks. I’ve now had multiple faults, including two electrical faults and illegal bald tyres, and I’m once again left without a car.
I’m extremely disappointed with the overall experience, particularly after spending so much time finding what I thought was the right car and being assured that I was buying a great vehicle.
Please can someone contact me to discuss this as a formal complaint. I would like this situation properly reviewed, including the checks carried out on the vehicle before I purchased it, the repeated faults and what Skoda is prepared to do as a gesture of goodwill given everything that has happened (E.g extend my warranty)
I had a fantastic experience with Škoda…
I had a fantastic experience with Škoda Milton Keynes when purchasing my new Škoda Elroq. The whole process was quick, smooth and incredibly easy from start to finish.
A special thank you to Tara, who was brilliant throughout the entire process. She was friendly, helpful and always available to answer any questions, making the whole experience stress-free.
I’m really pleased with my new Elroq and would definitely recommend Škoda Milton Keynes to anyone looking for a great car-buying experience. Thank you, Tara, and the whole team! 🚗👏
After-care is the worst
I wonder if Skoda is remotely interested in the after care of cars they have sold? Do they want brand loyalty or repeat custom? Or in having their existing customers recommend their products?
Don’t get me wrong I really enjoy my car but I do not enjoy the fact that when something goes wrong it’s a nightmare to get repaired.
When things go wrong in warranty period (eg when you are still tied in to Skoda to get it mended) the dates offered in the London area are upwards of two (mostly three) months away.
It took a lot of pleading and research to find a company that could look at why the car’s a/c stopped and the battery was being notified as lower than it should in a heatwave; and, even then the earliest appointment was 3 weeks away.
Skoda service centres keep the car for at least 14 hours and the majority are a long way from convenient public transport. If I had known how inconvenient and slow it is to get my Elroq into the workshop I would never have bought it. The nearest service centre to where I live invariably tells me that their booking system is down and that they will call me back when it is up and running again, which seems to be three days later.
So the long and the short of it that have lost one sale already, as I could not in all honesty give a friend who liked my Elroq’s drive so much that they were considering getting one, something they probably will not do after I give them an update on the after sales service position.
A big thumbs down
Škoda Darlington Service Department -0 stars!
Škoda Darlington Service Department and Škoda UK Cudtomer Service.
Brand new Skoda Enyaq - paid a considerable amount for a panoramic sunroof - total cost over £48,000. After 4 months to the day, the front visor/ housing where the sunroof slots in, snapped completely in half. Skoda Darlington refused to fix it under warranty, in fact, the rather dismissive service advisor chap said ‘if it is in fact under warranty’ before a tech even looked at it! The manager then said he would send the details to their warranty section and they said no, not covered. I spoke with a Škoda ‘manager’ at customer complaints UK and he had the ordasity to tell me when I take it further to the ombudsman, they will just call Škoda UK and Škoda will tell them it isn’t covered under warranty and that is the end of it.
I will be speaking with the general manager at Škoda Darlington tomorrow, getting a second opinion from another dealership, contacting two other legal bodies and will not stop until they are made to pay for which, any person with an ounce of intelligence, can see is a manufacturing fault!
They are all oblivious to my consumer rights:
I sent this to them,
Because this vehicle is under 6 months old , my statutory rights under the consumer rights Act 2015 apply. Under section 19 of the act, any fault that arises within the first 6 months is legally presumed to have been present at time of delivery. Therefore, the legal burden of proof rests entirely on your dealership to provide definitive, technical evidence that this issue was caused by external customer misuse or accidental damage. In the absence of such proof the law dictates that the vehicle is not of ‘satisfactory quality’ or ‘fit for purpose’ and is deemed a manufacturing defect.
Please accept this email as my formal request for a remedy under my statutory rights. I require your dealership to either repair or replace the defective parts/ trim free of charge, or,
Provide a formal ‘deadlock’ letter alongside a detailed, written technical report proving consumer inflicted damage, so that I may immediately escalate this matter to the Motor Ombudsmen. Y
It will be interesting to see what their general manager has to say. Anything other than they will repair in full under warranty will be met with legal proceedings.
Number 1 James Daytona Robinsons Skoda Norwich
Bought a Skoda Karoq through James Daytona at Robinsons Norwich. He was so helpful /professional/knowledgeable and friendly. I am extremely fussy and he sorted everything out for me. He deserves to and will go a long way in his field. I cannot sing his praises enough
Collected new Skoda Karoq Sportline 5…
Collected new Skoda Karoq Sportline 5 days ago. Can't activate the My Skoda app, and the car doesn't recognise me as Primary User. It requests email & password each time I switch on, saying I haven't used it lately, then refuses to connect. Driving me crazy every time I get in it! Dealer seems at a loss as to how to fix. Salesman brilliant, but doesn't know what is wrong! Disgraceful outcome after spending all that money. What to do next?
Just what is going on with Skoda
Just what is going on with Skoda. Poor quality, reliability issues made worse by obvious warranty avoidence.
And now the MySkoda App has gone haywire. Many customers are having connection issues why? The app needs an update so get on with it and why not reach out to your customers and apologise for the inconvenience.
Software Faults
Along with multiple others the info system keeps saying that there is an update. Three options, update, information, later press any and it just goes blank. Facebook forums are full of people who have same faults. Skoda say the only take notice of dealers reporting and I should take the car to them and pay them to check it. They say extended warranty doesn’t cover this. So Skoda have caused a fault and customers will have to pay to fix ???
Awful customer service
Awful customer service.
Wanted test drive few phone calls them saying we’re busy will arrange call bk asap still waiting 2 emails still nothing after nearly 2 weeks emailed Toyota Sunday evening they called first thing Monday 🤔🤔 guess who’s getting our business now.

Great customer service from shamim shah thankyou.
I am extremely disappointed with…
I am extremely disappointed with Škoda’s warranty service. My car is still covered by warranty, yet I was charged £144 for diagnostics just to investigate the fault. Even after paying this fee, I was still not given a clear answer about whether the repair would be covered under the warranty.
The main issue with the vehicle is a fault with the headlight system, specifically the AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System). The motor appears to have stopped working, which affects the headlight function and overall safety of the vehicle. Despite this clear fault, I was still required to pay for diagnostics before any warranty assessment was properly confirmed.
This makes me question the value of having a warranty at all. Diagnostics are necessary to identify a fault, so why should customers have to pay for them before a warranty claim can even be assessed? If the car is under warranty, customers should not be left paying significant costs simply to determine whether a genuine fault is covered.
I bought my car expecting peace of mind and confidence in Škoda’s warranty, but instead I have been left frustrated, out of pocket, and without any resolution. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in Škoda’s after-sales service.
I expected much better from a manufacturer with Škoda’s reputation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend their warranty service.
biggest mistake of my life.
after having many Skoda company cars, I decided to purchase one for myself. biggest mistake of my life. after having an issue with the car. having the car sent back to the garage. for multiple electronic issues including Windows opening on their own I was told it only needed an over-the-air update. before the update was released my windows opened again flooding my car. they have still doing anything after I have moved and now are refusing to do anything. saying I have to take it up the garage which is now over 400 miles away. and that garages refusing to do anything because I'm not in the local area
Skoda UK customer service is not the best Dealership much better to deal directly with
Overall I love my 21 plate Kodiaq, service /sales staff have been brilliant can’t fault JCT600 .
But the after sales service from Skoda UK, is at best not very good, I called them to sort out appointment for know software issue on these cars, and they did nothing but send me emails asking if the problem had been sorted.
In the end I contacted JCT600 and sorted it out myself.
Now I need the eSIM resetting as it still holds old owners account , contacted Skoda UK , put through to digital service manager, who stated they would get it sorted
And contact me back.
It still allows me to connect to internet, but not register
My 2 keys for assigned driver profile, because the eSIM is connected to old account.
Seems there are failings within Skoda UK, when it comes to after sales customer support.
I have seen loads of problems not just with software issues but also the DSG gearboxes, (my car is fitted with said gearbox).
If they know these issues exist from new, why have they not done recalls on effected vehicles??
Care of take your money and your on your own !
I’m just glad I purchased extended warranty from JCT600 when I picked up the car.
Skoda EV - beware before you buy!
We bought a Skoda Elroq in 2025, and the vehicle developed an air conditioning fault within its first year. Initially, the retailer could not offer an appointment within a reasonable timeframe, with the earliest available slot being 1.5 months away. Although we were eventually able to secure an earlier appointment, the issue could not be properly diagnosed and was ultimately resolved through a gas service.
The manufacturer recommends a gas service every two years, so we would not expect a new car to require one within its first year. The investigation and gas service were provided as a “goodwill gesture” and the case was closed without any clear explanation or evidence of what caused the fault. This gave the impression that responsibility for the failure somehow rested with us, despite the issue occurring in a nearly new vehicle.
While we appreciate that the problem was eventually resolved, we want to make prospective buyers aware of our experience. In our case, the warranty proved ineffective, and the vehicle experienced a significant fault within its first year of ownership.
