Toyota Yaris cross
This car can not be left for more than 4 days without the battery going flat. So if you go on holiday and leave your car at the airport you need assistance to restart the vehicle. According to Toyota you should buy a trickle charger!!!! This was not made clear by the sales people and the head office are of the opinion that it’s the customers’ fault for not researching properly and a certain person just talks over the top of you whilst you are talking, says the car is the same as your your mobile phone and tells you all hybrids are the same. From my own experience this is not true.
Polite staff, but online booking not honoured
I booked a service appointment online via Toyota on 28 August at around 13:00 for a service on 1 September at Group 1 Toyota North Nottingham. I received their check-in request email on 30 August, completed everything in advance, and dropped my car off at 08:00 on 1 September as planned. I had taken a day off specifically for this.
After waiting about 30 minutes, the agent told me they could not find any booking request. I showed them my email confirmation, but they said they were fully booked and unable to help. They could not offer me any service timeslot for the rest of the week. I was also told that my online booking was “just AI” and not a real confirmation, which is very concerning given I received an email confirmation and completed all pre-check-in steps.
The agent themselves was polite and professional, and I’m happy with their attitude. However, I’m not satisfied with the overall Toyota arrangement and how the online booking system appears to work.
Don't book online
I booked an MOT and service online a week ago. The appointment was for today. Yesterday I get an email saying sorry we cant do the MOT. It apparently takes them a week to "confirm" service appointments. What sort of system is this? Do they arrange appointments by post???
I told them I wanted a test drive of a new car whilst I was there - not now thanks.
I have now had to go elsewhere for the MOT. No luck resolving this with the local Listers branch.
My advice - don't book online!
Derby Road Nottingham Avoid !!
Derby Road Nottingham Avoid !!! Took car in for repair they had moved appointment twice then turned up after working night shift and said they were fully booked to go away ! Serious security concern — disappointing response from Toyota
My 2019 Toyota RAV4 was subjected to an attempted theft involving access through the vehicle’s CAN-bus system. I have video evidence, and the police are actively progressing the criminal investigation and have requested my evidence and statement.
I raised my concerns with Toyota GB, Toyota Europe and ultimately Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan. Despite the escalation, Toyota Motor Corporation has not even acknowledged my correspondence. I have now referred the vehicle-security concern to DVSA for independent consideration.
I am not blaming Toyota for the actions of criminals. My concern is why this route of attack is possible, what Toyota is doing to protect customers, and whether buyers are adequately informed about the vulnerability.
The police have been actively doing their part. I expected Toyota to demonstrate the same level of responsibility. Prospective RAV4 buyers should ask Toyota these questions before purchasing.
Wonderful service for Izzy Cole
Went to the Toyota dealership in Worcester with my mum to get an idea of a new car for her, Izzie Cole was our sales executive- who was just lovely, very polite and professional really put my mum at ease and looked after her also giving her confidence!
Absolutely Appalling Experience with…
Absolutely Appalling Experience with Toyota Customer Service
I have owned Toyota vehicles for many years and have spent a considerable amount of money with the company. I have bought and run numerous Toyotas over the years, including three Carinas, 2 litre diesels , two Corollas and most recently a Yaris hybrid . I used to regard Toyota as one of the most reliable and trustworthy car manufacturers in the world.
After this experience, I can honestly say that my opinion of Toyota has changed dramatically.
My wife was driving a Toyota with only around 24,000 miles on it when it suffered what appeared to be a potentially very serious electrical/mechanical failure. The power steering stopped working, the brakes behaved abnormally, multiple warning lights appeared and the speedometer stopped working properly.
This was not some minor fault or irritating dashboard light. This was a vehicle with serious systems apparently malfunctioning while being driven.
The car was recovered by the AA and taken to Pinkstones, a Toyota main dealer. You would reasonably expect Toyota Customer Support to treat a report like this with the utmost seriousness.
Unfortunately, that has absolutely not been our experience.
I contacted Toyota Customer Support myself and have spent weeks chasing this matter. A case was opened, yet despite repeated telephone calls from me and numerous emails from Pinkstones, Toyota has seemingly been incapable of providing the level of assistance or urgency that this situation warrants.
Quite frankly, the customer service has been shocking.
What makes this particularly infuriating is that Toyota appears to have forgotten that behind every “case number” is an actual person and, in this instance, a family dealing with a potentially dangerous vehicle fault.
Had this happened at a different time, in different circumstances or at higher speed, the consequences could have been extremely serious. Yet instead of demonstrating genuine concern, urgency and ownership of the problem, I have been left feeling as though I am simply another customer to be passed around the system.
I find that completely unacceptable.
I have spent years buying Toyota vehicles and recommending Toyota to other people. I did so because I believed the company represented quality, reliability and customer care.
The cars may still be good, but based on this experience, I have serious doubts about the “customer care” part.
It is absolutely disgraceful that a customer has to make repeated calls, chase emails and continually push for answers before Toyota appears willing to properly engage with a potentially serious safety issue.
What exactly has happened to Toyota?
This is not the Toyota I thought I was buying into for all those years.
A manufacturer can make the most reliable car in the world, but when something goes wrong, that is when you find out what the company is really made of. Unfortunately, Toyota’s response to us has been extremely disappointing.
I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for the most basic thing any customer should be entitled to: to be taken seriously when reporting a potentially dangerous fault with a Toyota vehicle.
Instead, I have encountered what feels like bureaucracy, delays, excuses and an astonishing lack of urgency.
After owning so many Toyotas, I never expected to find myself writing a review like this.
But if Toyota Customer Support cannot properly support a long-standing customer when their vehicle develops a potentially dangerous fault, what exactly is the point of having Toyota Customer Support?
This experience has completely damaged my confidence in Toyota.
Toyota should be ashamed of the way this has been handled.
Good cars are not enough.
A famous reputation is not enough.
A case number is not enough.
When a customer’s safety may be involved, Toyota needs to act.
After years of loyalty to Toyota, I am now seriously questioning whether I would ever buy another one.
Extremely disappointing. Extremely frustrating. And completely unacceptable.

Shocked and disappointed
Bought a car from one of Toyota UK’s registered dealerships. Car had driven less than 8,000 miles and was less than a year old. Car failed catastrophically twice in first 2 months with loss of power on one occasion whilst on a motorway. Toyota UK still hasn’t replied to the email I wrote to them over a month ago! I have previously trusted and spent thousands with Toyota. Will not be doing so in the future.
Extremely poor customer service
Extremely poor customer service. Does not make sense. Very difficult to contact anyone. No positive response. Don’t buy a Toyota because you will have no support afterwards. Spent £48k on a GR and the aftercare is extremely disappointing. Seriously thinking of selling the car and moving on.
Great service
Recently paid a couple of visits to Toyota Tamworth for a test drive, and the Sales people were extremely helpful and patient. Even though we made it plain that we were considering several other manufacturers they gave us lots of their time and couldn't have been more obliging. What's more there was no sales pressure and I reccomend them most highly.
We also had a worrying sound with our current Toyota prius, which I thought might be a wheel bearing. I was expecting a large bill, but fortunately it was caused by a minor issue of corrosion on one of the brakes, and having explained, they did not charge. Good service these days is not so easy to come by, and great service without cost even more rare.
Toyota yaris cross hybrid battery failure
Toyota yaris cross hybrid has a fundamental problem with the small auxiliary going flat after just a few days, the manufacturer needs to recall these cars and fix the issue. My car got stuck in a car park and we dare not park it at a airport as it will run flat in no time, our only option is to trade it in and buy Chinese. Sadly my advice is don't buy one unless they sort this design failure as not fit for purpose.
Disgusting service from John Roe Toyota…
Disgusting service from John Roe Toyota Scunthorpe. After waiting for parts and then a repair slot they rang and said can't do job After keeping RAV4 for over a day . Rang another company who said they would get the parts from John Roe, but no parts were there. Work it out for your self, won't use them again or Toyota.

**for Toyota Yaris:**
I recently purchased a Toyota Yaris and overall I am very satisfied with my experience\. The car is highly reliable, fuel\-efficient, and easy to drive, especially in city traffic\. The comfort level is good for daily use, and the maintenance costs are reasonable compared to other cars in the same category\. I also appreciate the safety features and smooth performance\.
The service experience at the Toyota dealership was professional and helpful, and I had no major issues during the buying process\. Overall, I would rate the Toyota Yaris **10/10** and recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable and economical
Be very careful of buying a Toyota
Be very careful of buying a Toyota. My 2017 Yaris I have had since new with a full main dealer service history developed a steering fault.
The part which needs replaced is a track rod end front
The part should cost anywhere between £30 and £100.
However, Toyota no longer sell this part separately requiring a whole new steering rack at a cost of £1400 plus VAT.
This seems very unfair given that they are a reputable company.
I have spoken to the dealer who are not particularly interested in helping.
As I say be careful when buying a Toyota especially a used model.
Buy a Honda
Completely the wrong automatic gearbox oil was sold by Toyota, after they inistied it was correct.
The moment there was a sign of liabitity for potential damage to my car, Toyota Customer Relations were evasive and dishonest about what had happened, unwilling to help fix the problem.
The car is used to take my new born son up and down to hospital.
Is the brand you want to spend your hard earned money with...?
Buy a Honda.
Genuine trustworthy people.
