EMISAR, the newest Romanian satellite, has been successfully launched today, 30 March. RARTEL took part in the Consortium that has developed the complete satellite system, including the space and ground segment. EMISAR is a 1U CubeSat funded by the Romanian Space Agency and developed by a Romanian consortium led by the Romanian Institute of Space Science - ISS, alongside Romanian InSpace Engineering (RISE), the Constanta Maritime University and us. The satellite has been prepared and successfully integrated into the CubeSat deployer from SEOPS Space at the Maverick Space Systems facility in California, USA and has been launched as part of the Transporter-16 rideshare mission with SpaceX. The satellite is a strategic step for Romania and aims to demonstrate a “Store-and-Forward” communication service, enabling the exchange of digital messages between two ground stations: it stores data uplinked from a remote site located anywhere in the globe and downlink it later, when it passes over other ground stations, for example in the home country. The system can ensure low cost, almost-real-time messaging, being able to offer communication services in areas without continuous coverage, including the poles. RARTEL - Member of the Consortium that carries out “Romanian Waters Cadaster” Last week, the National Administration “Romanian Waters” organized the closure event for the project “Implementation of the Water Cadaster” which is one of the largest  initiatives aimed at digitizing water resources in Romania.  Within this project, RARTEL participated in a Consortium along with GEOTOP srl (Lider) - INTERGRAPH COMPUTER SERVICES srl - INTER COMPLEX srl using integrated remote sensing and geospatial processing technologies for the acquisition of LiDAR data for more than 50,000 km², and I – ML technologies for the generation of digital terrain models (DTM) and surface models (DSM). The complexity of the project comes with other innovative elements developed by the Consortium, such as: an integrated GIS application allowing riverbed dynamics analysis, monitoring of mineral aggregate extraction and identification of risk areas, including landslides in the vicinity of hydrotechnical works, creation of the national orthophoto maps used for the precise identification of watercourses and protection zones as well as the development of a modern geospatial platform, in cloud architecture, for the management and analysis of hydrographic data. Such data provide the Romanian Water Administration with an essential support for the prevention of natural risks, the efficient management of the public water domain and aligns Romania with the European standards and best practices in this domain. #LiDAR #GIS #Sustainability #Digitalization

Telespazio, part of Leonardo Space, will supply a mobile satellite communications system to the Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil (Gabinete de Segurança Institucional da Presidência da República – GSI). The satellite solution offered by Telespazio Brasil, named #VELOCE, was selected following a validation and testing campaign conducted by the GSI across several operational scenarios. The system, already operational, was designed and developed in Brazil in collaboration with Grupo Racco and is based on Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology, ensuring reliability, robustness, and high performance.   #VELOCE enables high-availability communications throughout Brazil, providing secure and resilient connectivity even in remote or hard-to-reach areas. The system meets stringent operational requirements and is certified according to IP68 standards, ensuring advanced protection of the terminals used against dust, water, and harsh environmental conditions.   “Space is not only a strategic infrastructure, but also an enabling platform for services that deliver real value to society.
