Abstract

Apparatus for electrically heating a food product comprises an container (10) for the food product and a void (25) containing an electrical heater (30). The container is upwardly open to introduce / remove the food product. The void is enclosed but has, in its base wall, a valve (35) which allows air to vent from the void but prevents water from entering the void.
