Abstract

To allow even an unskilled operator to easily perform the maintenance of a robot and perform operations in short times. A robot system comprises a robot (12,26,28) having movable parts; a controller (14) that incorporates a first rewritable storing means (44) for storing a control program to control the operation of the robot and a second rewritable storing means (46) for storing instruction data for use in the control program and that has a slot for permitting data transmission to and data reception from the first storing means (44) and the second storing means (46); a third storing means (47) that is a removable storage medium that uses a flash memory and is to be inserted into the slot and able to store the control program and/or instruction data; and data transmitting/receiving means for transmitting/receiving data between the third storing means (47) and both or one of the first storing means (44) and the second storing means (46).
