Abstract

 本発明の液晶パネル(1)は、液晶セル(2)と、液晶セル(2)の一面側に設けられた第1の偏光子(31)と、液晶セル(2)の他面側に設けられた第2の偏光子(41)と、第1の偏光子(31)及び第2の偏光子(41)の間に設けられた第1の光学補償層(5)及び第2の光学補償層(6)と、を備え、この液晶セル(2)が、0.8<Re[450]/Re[550]<1の関係を満たし、第1の光学補償層(5)が、Nz係数0.8~1.4で且つ0.8<Re[450]/Re[550]<1の関係を満たし、第2の光学補償層(6)が、nx=ny>nzで且つ0.98<Re[450]/Re[550]<1.04の関係を満たしている。本発明の液晶パネルは、全方位方向及び極角方向から見た場合でも、カラーシフトが生じにくい。このため、該液晶パネルは、極めて優れたカラー表示特性を有する。
