Abstract

 本発明は、屈折率楕円体がnx≧nz>nyの関係を満たし、薄く且つ軽量であり、更に、所望のNz係数を有する複屈折性フィルムを提供する。  本発明の複屈折性フィルムは、リオトロピック液晶性を示す第1のアセナフト[1,2-b]キノキサリン誘導体と、リオトロピック液晶性を示す第2のアセナフト[1,2-b]キノキサリン誘導体と、を含有し、屈折率楕円体がnx≧nz>nyの関係を満たしている。この複屈折性フィルムのNz係数は、好ましくは0~0.5である。
