Abstract

The invention relates to a diecasting method for producing diecast articles from molten metal. The aim of the invention is to provide a method which allows an opening (7) of the casting chamber (2) to a runner to be obturated by the casting material itself. For this purpose, the casting plunger (2), during shot, moves forward close to the opening (7) and remains there until a remaining melt remainder at least partially solidifies while forming a mold plug (4).
