Abstract

La présente invention concerne un four à gravité permettant une réduction directe du fer minéral. Ce four comporte une zone de réaction médiane (16) dans laquelle se produisent les réactions de réduction du fer minéral. Le four comporte également des organes (12, 13) permettant d'introduire dans cette zone de réaction (16) le fer minéral. Enfin, une zone de décharge (18) est destinée à la décharge du fer métal réduit. Au-dessus de la zone de réaction médiane (16) se trouve une zone supérieure de préchauffage et de pré-réduction (15) dans laquelle s'intercale un distributeur supplémentaire (31) de gaz réducteur.
