Abstract

The present invention relates to a protective garment for the backside as well as the hip bone edges of especially a person, who is practicing a sport, which garment comprises absorbing parts, designed to cover the backside and the hip bone edges respectively of that person. The protective garment has a shield-like shape and comprises three parts (2, 3, 4) which are loosely or firmly connected to each other and of which the shape of the intermediate part (2) is a truncated osceles triangle having an upper base (14) and a lower, short, relatively narrow part (15), the two other parts (3, 4) being disposed at the long sides (16, 17) of the osceles triangle, which parts (3, 4) taper off downwards and have a shape, which extends outwards and to a higher level than the upper base (14) of the triangle in order to, when the protective garment is used, by means of their wider parts (18, 19) cover the hip bone edges and by means of the base (14) of the intermediate part (2) cover the backside and by means of the lower, shorter and narrow part (15) of the intermediate part (2) cover the caudal vertebra.

Description

PROTECTIVE DEVICE FOR THE LOWERBACK, THE CAUDAL VERTEBRA AND THE
ILIAC CRETS
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a protective garment for the backside as well as the hip bone edges of especially a sportsman's (an athlete's) body, which garment comprises a schock absorbing part, designed to cover said body parts, when certain sports are practiced.
BACKGROUND ART
In the above-mentioned technical field there are many known different solutions designed to protect a person's lower body parts, particularly when sports are practiced. These devices are often cumbersome and thus interfere with the practice of the sport or are small and pliant and consequently do not completely protect the most vulnerable parts. A few examples of known protective garments are: SE,A9603106-7, US,A4 807 301 and 5 551 082.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention is to overcome the above- mentioned drawbacks and disadvantages of known protective garments, designed to prevent injuries to the lower parts of the body.
In accordance with the inventive idea the above-mentioned problems are solved by designing said protective garment, which has a shieldlike shape, with three parts, which are loosely or firmly (fixedly) connected to each other, and of which the shape of the intermediate part is a truncated isoceles triangle having an upper base and a lower shorter, relatively narrow part, the two other parts being mounted at the long sides of the isosceles triangle, which parts taper off downwards and have a shape, which extends outwards and up to a higher level than the upper base of the triangle in order to, when the garment is used, by means of the wider parts thereof cover the hip bone edges and by means of the upper base of the intermediate parts cover the lower part of the back and by means of the lower short narrow part of the intermediate part cover the caudal vertebra.
Also, in accordance with the inventive idea a protective garment is obtained, which is ergonomically designed, results in a more secure practice of sports, prevents serious injuries to the hips and the caudal vertebra, is economic to manufacture, is easy to use, is easy to store and has a long life.

DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
In Fig. 1 the protective garment according to the present invention is shown. According to Fig. 1 the protective garment according to the invention comprises a shield-like part 1. Shield 1 comprises three parts, connected to each other, namely an intermediate part 2, the shape of which is a truncated osceles triangle, on the outer long sides of which two ear-like parts 3,4 are disposed. Upper parts 18, 19 of said ear-like parts 3,4 are each one designed, when the garment is used, to protect the corresponding hip bone edge and intermediate part 2 is designed to protect the backside and its narrow end 15 is designed to fit tightly between the buttocks and in this way protect the caudal vertebra, which is often injured in falling. The protective garment can be made in one piece, integrally, with folding lines 16,17 between parts 2,3,4 or comprise three loose parts 2,3,4 which are provided with a common coating, which is somewhat larger than the total surface of parts, folding zones 21,22 being formed between intermediate part 2 and the two respective ear-like parts 3,4, allowing the latter parts to be folded on top of intermediate part 2, when the garment is not used. Corners 5 ',6' of parts 3,4, which cover the respective hip bone edges of the person wearing the garment, are disposed at a larger distance from narrow part 15 of the intermediate part than base 14 of the intermediate part and have edge lines, which extend downwards towards base 14 of part 2 and thus make the garment more comfortable to wear.
The coating can comprise the rear part of a pair of trousers 23, which looks like underpants and preferably is elastic, and its elastic lining and front part allow an adjustment to the size of different users.
Fig. 2 shows bands 5,6,7 and 8 at the four corners 5 ',6 ',7' and 8' of the protective garment and buckles 9,10 and 11, by means of which bands 5,6 will be connected to each other by means of a buckle 9 around the waist of the user. Bands 7,8 are designed to be applied around bands 5,6 in order to allow the user to introduce his (her) legs through holes 12,13, which are formed between bands 7,8 and outer edges 14,15 of the ear-like lateral parts 3,4. The bands can be adjusted by means of buckles 9,10,11.
Fig. 3 shows, how the protective garment according to the invention is disposed in a pair of trousers, which preferably is provided with a pocket or the like, designed to recieve the protective garment.
The protective garment can be made of a plastic material or a natural material having different hardness, thickness and weight, entirely depending on the feld of application.
The present invention can be modified in various ways within the scope of patent protection claimed in the accompanying claims.
