Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Erzeugen von dünnen Metallsträngen, insbesondere aus Stahl, bei dem ein Metall-Langprodukt in Berührung mit einer Metallschmelze und diese zum Ankristallisieren gebracht wird. Hierbei sind folgende Schritte vorgesehen: es wird ein Metall-Langprodukt eingesetzt, das einen von der Metallschmelze unterschiedlichen Werkstoff aufweist, wobei einer ein rostfreier Stahl ist; es wird die Temperatur des Metall-Langprodukts, die Temperatur der Metallschmelze und die Verweilzeit des Metall-Langprodukts in der Metallschmelze in der Weise eingestellt, daß die Metallschmelze in einer Schichtdicke von D = 20 % bis 2 % des Metall-Langprodukts auf dieses aufkristallisiert. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung eine Einrichtung zum Erzeugen von dünnen Metallsträngen.
