Abstract
L'invention présente une application dans le retraitement de scories d'aluminium par fusion. L'essence de l'invention réside dans le fait que l'on introduit un réactif dans l'aluminium fondu afin de favoriser la séparation d'oxydes et de l'aluminium métallique à une température comprise entre 800 et 930 °C. Le réactif utilisé peut être la scorie obtenue pendant la production d'alpax synthétique, le produit obtenu par traitement de graphite à la vapeur, la chaux, un mélange de graphite et de scories d'aluminium secondaires ou un mélange épuisé produit dans l'industrie de coulée. L'invention favorise une refusion plus rapide de scories, et elle réduit les coûts liés au retraitement des scories et rend productif l'emploi de déchets métallurgiques jusqu'alors inutilisés.
