DESIGN FOR THE ORNAMENTS OF A STOVE.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, J AMES SPEAR, of 1116 Market street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a new Design for Ornamenting Stoves, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the design.
Figure 2 is a section through the design on door A.
The figure upon the door A is, in general outline, convex, as shown in section, fig. 2.
The centre, b, is a spear, encircled, at its centre, by a wreath of laurel, g, surrounded by diverging rays, d.
Around this is an oval of concave oak-leaves, h, arranged side by side Within a serrated border.
At each of the four corners of this figure is placed a iir cone in bold relief, with branching leaves on each side, extending from the base of the oone to the border of the moulding m, so as to change the oval form of the figure to a rectangular one, corresponding to the shape of the door A.
The figure upon the door B is a central field of diverging rays, d', encircled by an oval of concave oakleaves, h', arranged side by side, within a serrated border.J At each 'of the four corners of this oval is placed, in bold relief, a fir cone, covered with its husks or leaves, It.
The figure upon the door C is a central spear, wreath, and rays, as upon the door A. This is within a raised oval moulding, m', having, at its four corners, in bold relief, a fir cone, covered with husk or leaves k'.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- Y The design for the doors A B C, as herein set forth and shown.
