EDWARD M. JUDD AND RODNEY L. SMITH, OF WOLCOTTVILLE, CONNECTI- OUT, ASSIGNORS T0 TURNER, SEYMOUR, AND JUDDS.
Design No. 3,136, dated July 28, 1868.
DESIGN FOR A TWIN'HOLDER.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONOERN:
Be it known that we, EDWARD M. JUDD and RODNEY L. SMITH, of Wolcottville, in the county of Litchfield, and State of Conneeticut, have invented or produced a new and original Design for a Twine-Holder; and we do hereby declare the following to he a correct description of the same, reference being had to the annexed photograph of the same.
Our twine-holder is composed of two open-work shells, of nearly a hemispherical shape, hinged together. The design of the shape and configuration of the open work in said shells is that of a series of elliptical openings, a a, with square openings bin a. range around said shells next to the elliptical openings a, and a. third range of elliptical openings, c, of smaller size, surrounds the top dome d.
The foot or stand of this twine-holder is formed with claws e e, at the angles of a base made by a. series of mdial inclined leaves f, composing the lower parts of the twine-holder, and to which the under hemisphere is attached.
The general appearance of the hemispheres is that of an open fret-Work, said open fret-work forming our design, as shown.
The hinge attaching the shells together, the bead upon the edges coming together, the pin and chain, do not form any part of our design, and are expressly disclaimed.
What we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design of the Shape and configuration of the twine-holder, as described and representcd.
In witness whereof, we have hcreunto set our signatures, this 27th day of March, A. D. 1868.
