Description

JAMES RES'IEI'N,A OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
Letters PatentNo. 94,030, dated August 24, 1869; wntedated 'August 9, 1869.
IMPROVED IEABRIC`IOR THE MANUFACTURE OF-COLL.`ARS, CUFFS, 3c-c.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters 'Ptent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern:
Bc it known that I, JAMES Rns'rnm, of the city of Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and improved Fabric for the Manufacture of Paper Collars, Cuffs,
and Shirt-Fronts; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
This invention is an improvement on the fabric patented by me under' date of December 29,1868, in the manufacture of which was used a fibrous hemp paper, having pasted on one side a plain White paper, and on the opposite side, a white enamelled-linen-imitation paper.
The object of the present improvement is to lessen the expense in the manufacture of the fabric, by d0- ing away with thplain white paper, and simply use one sheet of the hemp paperv and one sheet of the white enamelled-linen-imitation paper, the hemp paper being covered With a white enamel, or not, as desired.
To enable those skilled in the art to make and usc my invention, I will now proceed to describe its construction and opera-tion.
The drawings represent the fabric, with a part of the' lWhite enamelled-linen-imitation paper torn off, also the ends of the hemp paper turned over, for the purpose of showing the under side of same enamelled and not enanlelled.
Y A isa sheet of brous hemp paper, on one side of which is pasted a white enamelled-linen-imitation paper, B.
'Ihe under side of Ais enamelled with a white enamel, C, or left plain, as shown inD.
The arranging, pasting, andenamelling these'papers, so as to form the above-described fabric, will be well understood by those skilled in the art of fancypaper manufacturing.
Having thus described my invention,
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is
The within-described fabric, composed of the parts A and B, with the part A coated with a white enamel, C, or not, as desired.
' Intestimony whereof, I have signed my name. in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
f JAMES RESTEIN.
IVitnesses;
CHARLES H. EVANS, HENRY ROELLIG.
