Be it known that I, JOSEPH H. ArmNsoN, of the ctyand county of San Francisco,jState of California,

, have made a new and useful invention in an Improved Attachment for Comb and4 Shears for Hair-Cutting.

" My invention consists of a V device wherebya comb 1 is attachedto a pair of shears, for facilitating haircutting, arranged in such a manner -that they'are removably adjustable, and bywhich the hair may be cut of the saine length throughout anyportion or the whole of the head.

To c'ect this object, I make a screw, of suitable, i length andsize, as shown in Figure 5, marked A."

These holes .may be'placed at any position along i the back of thescissor's, as desired. The head of the screw secures the comb iniits pla-ce, and makes it easy to adjust the scissors at any vposition, by screwing,`

When the screw A is used with clamps, the clamp D for the comb is made so as to admit the screw passing through a part of theclam'p, and then admit of slipping o ver the comb in such a manner as to hold it firmly. l

.'lhe clamp B, for the scissors, is similar in its construction to the clamp D, but moves up and down along, the screw A, and allows of its adjustment to. any position. C is applied, -if needed, to more thoroughly secure the scissors in position.

The model of 'applying or using my invention, after attaching as described, is to use the scissors with theV right hand... Keep the comb upon the scalp, lift the hair by the left hand, either with the lingers, or by a comb, and-placeiit between the blades of the scissors to be cut. l y Havingthns described my invention,
