OVKBALLS.
APPLIULTIOI FILED JUNE 30, 190B.

Humidor,
who no 4; {W4 &
To all whom it may concern:
-i.i-'.'o i WISE, or NEW YoRK, N. it, assIoNoR To WIBE BRGTHERS', or v5,"
ovimamisn No. eooocio.
Be it known that I, LEO H. W'IsE, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Overalls, of which the following is a s ecii'ication.
This invention re ates to an improved garment for men. of that kind known as overalls.
'lhcordinai ry overalls used by mechanics and work' iieii is .a bifurcated garment commonly extending up to the waist, and in some cases has a breast-piece or bib which extends higlier than the waist.
The object rof the present invention is to provide for n-ens wear an overall garment niving a bre t-pie-ce' attached. to the front,
nnd a back-diece continuous with the legs and hiport 'on and extending upward to the shoulder; and said breast and back pieces havingoverlapping side-edges which are vertical under the arm-pits and are'buttoned together and. entirely envelop the.
body off the wearer, the garment comprising what 1 aybe termed a coverall.
Ref .rring to the accompanying drawing,
' Figure l is a front view of the garment. Fig. 2 is a. side v ew of the garment. Fig. 3
is a cross section at the breast on line 33.
The legs, 1, and front pockets, 2, are of the usual construction; at the front is a waistband, 3, which extends only across the front and whose ends terminate at the vertical side-edges. 15. There is no waist-band at the back. The ily opening, at the front extends vertically from the crotch, 6, to the said must-band. 3, in this garment the fly is a mere vertical slit or o )cning with lafiped edges which are fastened by buttons. oth ends of the fly-slit are elosi-id,-the top-end being closed at the waist-hand as the ower end is at the crotch.
Above the waist-band at the front is a breast-piece, 7 made of two side-parts, 8, 8, which are united together at the center by a vertical seam, 9, and said breast piece at its lower edge is attached to the waist-band, 3, and extends u )ward to the point, 10, where the neck of the wearer would eoine. 'lhe breast-piece has vertical side-edges, 15.
By making the front breast-piece of two equal parts, 8, and uniting them with a vertical Beam. 9. and attaching the same to the waist-band, 3, at the front, the desired convex conformation is obtained.
Specification of Letters Patent. Application medium so, 190a Serial No. 441,120.
two parts, 8, united by Patented Sept. 3219,1903:
The back is made of two pieces unitedat.
the center by a vertical seam, 14; each back p ece comprises the back of one lo 1, the hip, 11, and one half of the back of the body, 12, to the shoulder, 13, these parts being one continuous piece.
The leg-fronts andv backs'at. the outside seams, 16, are permanently united from the lower ends of the le s up to the front .pockets at the point, 17. *rom' said points, 17, adjacent the front pockets, upward, the vertical side-ed cs, 15, of the body-front overlap the side e ges of the body-back and these side-cri es, 15, which have vertical position under the arms, are secured together by buttons, 18; both the front and the back have inclined corner edges, 19, which extend from the highest or neck-edges, 10, 20, down to the side-edges, 15. These inclined corner edges form the curves that take under the arms of the person. Shoulder straps, 21, extend from the top back-edge, 20, to the top front ed%e, 10.
' t' will be seen this overall garment has a construction that provides for envelopin the legs and body, and covers the front an back to the neck. Its construction also is such as to make it convenient to put on and take off.
