This invention relates to a dispensing container for cosmetic tissue, and has for its principal object a means to contain tissue for cosmetic purposes in bundles as removed from the original cartons and retain the same in an orderly condition to remove the tissues one at a time.

A further object of this invention is to provide a container, the construction of which is simplified and inexpensive to manufacture, and to accomplish such the container may be made of plastic material to eliminate joints except between its lid and body portion.

These and other objects will hereinafter be more fully explained, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, in which like characters will apply to like parts in the diiierent views.

Referring to the drawing:

Fig. 1 is a rear view or elevation of the container.

As a more detailed description of the drawing, it will be seen in Fig. 4 that the body portion consists of end walls and a bottom I and 2, also front and rear walls 3 and 4, respectively, and a lid comprising a top 5, ends 6, front and rear walls I and 8, when the container seats on its bottom.

Adjacent the upper extremity, the front and rear walls have been increased in thickness to form a roll-like structure while the corresponding walls of the lid are arranged to overlap by downward extending lips 9 which are arcuately formed in cross section to engage their respective rolls. Being so positioned, the lips will flex for disengagement with their respective rolls.

To remove the lid there is provided a pair of out turned tongues H] to function as a grip for the fingers to spring the lip on the forward wall outward by rocking movement while the lip on the rear wall is free to disengage when the lid is thus rocked, otherwise, the lid may be removed by sliding movement toward either end of the container.

To fill the container with cosmetic tissue, the

elongated slot H extending from end to end the tissue suificient to remove an outer sheet at a time without interference with the next succeed ing sheet and so on removed.

To hang the container on a wall or other support, there i provided a pair of notched apertures l2 through which the head of a screw will enter and by a downward movement of the contamer, the pin portion of such hanging means will enter the notch to avoid disengagement.

While I have described the container as being made from plastic material, I do not wish to be restricted to such alone as other materials may be employed, and such modifications may be made as lie within the scope of the appended claim.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

A dispensing container for cosmetic tissue of box-like structure of plastic nature having ends, sides and a bottom integrally joined to serve as storage for tissues, the box-like structure being closed by a slotted lid having sides and ends coinciding with and butting against the sides and ends of the box-like structure, said lid being reduced in depth over that of the box-like structure and the side edges of the box-like structure being increased in thickness to provide a longitudinal protrusion externally of the box-like structure, the lid having lips extending downwardly from their respective sides adjacent the ed es thereof to engage over the protrusions as retaining means for the lid on the box-like structure, one of said lips havingtongues extending downwardly and outwardly to serve as disengaging means for its respective lip from the box-like structure when the lid is desired to be removed for replacement of tissues.
