Claims.
This invention has for its object an improvement in bracelets, and principally to provide a bracelet for personal wear which is extremely simple in construction, and can be made of 5 metal or of any other material, such as (1) bone, (2) ivory, (3) synthetic plastic material, or the like.
The principal object of my invention is for the provision of an improved form of bracelet which can be assembled from two simple units, and which can be easily disassembled.
Further object will be apparent from the specification and drawing, in which Figure 1 is a perspective View of my improved form or" bracelet.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the Vidual units comprising the bracelet.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of the in partially assembled form.
Figure 4 is an end View or" one of the vidual units.
Figure 5 is a perspective view, showing how the bracelet is worn.
indicates the individual units of which the bracelet is composed and this embodiment made of wire or similar material, of two short parallel curved strands joined at the ends, (Figs. 2 and 4), to provide a curved member of the form shown.
The curved member 10 comprises a closed loop of wire or other suitable material having two elongated, parallel semi-circular sides 9 spaced and aligned axially of the member and joined at their ends by integral axially extending curved portions 12 and 15. The wire or strands of other suitable material, are shown as of substantially uniform cross section. The member may be considered as formed of a closed loop of wire or other suitable material, folded back upon itself to form elongated sides 9 and curved end sections 12 and 15.
The member 11 is similarly formed with end portions 13 and 14 and with sides 8.
"1011 and 11a indicate the open spaces between the parallel and opposite strands of each individual member 10 and 11.
By an inspection of Figure 3, it will be seen that a bracelet is produced merely by placing the 50 two members 10 and 11, back to back that is, with l their curved surface tangential to each other, and then inserting the two strands of one member between the upper strand and the other. On pushing the two members away from each other as far as they will go, they are tightly locked indiunits indiand produce the bracelet shown in Figure 1, and worn in Figure 5.
To release these members from each other, it is merely necessary to push the curved surfaces of the two members towards each other and they will be promptly released from each other.
Although I have shown herein the metal members with a certain curvature, it will be apparent that such curvatures may be changed and 65 other changes may be made in the device, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
It is also apparent that the number and shape of the unit members may also be changed without departing from the spirit or" my invention.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim is:
1. A substantially semi-circular unit for forming a bracelet or the like, comprising a wire or other suitable material, of substantially uniform cross-section, formed into an elongated, closed loop, the longer sides being substantially semicircular and being spaced and aligned axially of said unit and joined at their ends by integrally formed axially extending curved sections.
2. A substantially semi-circular unit for forming a bracelet or the like, comprising a wire or other suitable material, formed into an elongated, closed loop, the longer sides being substantially semi-circular and being spaced and aligned axially of said unit and joined at their ends by integrally formed axially extending sections.
3. A substantially semi-circular unit for forming a bracelet or the like, comprising a closed unitary loop of wire or other suitable material, folded back upon itself to form two parallel, substantially semi-circular portions, spaced and aligned axially of said unit and extending circumferentially of said unit, said portions being joined at their ends by integral axially extending curved portions.
4. A bracelet or the like comprising a plurality of substantially semi-circular members, each member comprising an elongated, closed loop, having two parallel, arcuate substantially semi- 0 circular sides, spaced and aligned axially of said member and joined by integral end portions, one of the semi-circular sides of one member passing between the two similar sides of another member, said members being extended into substan- 1 tially circular form and being secured by their interlocked end portions, but being readily separable by relative movement ,in the direction to collapse said bracelet.
5. A bracelet or the like comprising two sub- 11,0
bers being extended into substantially circular form and being secured by their interlocked end portions, but being readily separable by relative movement in the direction to collapse said bracelet.
