My invention relates to an article of wearing apparel and an object of my improvements is to combine a watch and a vanity case in one ornamental article and also an article that may be worn as an ornament upon the wrist.

I accomplish this object in the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which z-- Figure 1 is a perspective View of a combined watch and vanity case adapted to be adjusted to the wrist of the wearer.

Figure 2 is an enlarged elevation of the same, the vanity case being shown in section and the securing strap being omitted, the lid being closed.

Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 2, the lid being open.

Figure 4 is a plan view showing a modified construction.

Figure 5 is a side elevation of the modification of Figure 4.

Figure 6 is a second modification, the lid being open.

Figure 7 is a side elevation of the construction of Figure 6.

Figure 8 is an elevation of the modification of Figure 6 showing the securing strap.

Figure 9 is a modification of the form shown in Figure 6.

Figure 10 is a side elevation of the form shown in Figure 9, the vanity case being shown in section and the lid closed.

3 is avanity case having, for instance, the

compact 3a therein and the pad 3?). The vanity case 3 is provided with loops 4, to which a strap 5 is secured to fasten the vanity case to the wrist of the wearer. 2 is a watch, formed to constitute a cover for the vanity case 3. The cover 2 is hinged to the vanity case 3 at 23 and is supplied with an actuating means 2?) of the conventional kind for winding and setting the watch. The cover 2 is provided with a portion 20 that fits within the vanity case so that it is adapted in the usual way to snap into the wall of the vanity case and the actuating part 26 is located opposite the hinge 23 so that said part may be used as a handle for opening and throwing a0 back the cover.

This construction forms a composite ornament for the wrist and may he used both as a watch and for the purpose of a compact.

The modification of Figure 4 shows the watch 200 and the vanity case 3% pivoted toi gether at their edges and normally lying in approximately the same plane.

The vanity case being provided with a lid hinged at 23.90.

In the form of Figures 6, 7 and 8 the watch face is on the portion of the cover that is closed within the composite article, when the cover is shut down. When one wishes to look at the face of the watch the cover is raised, as shown in Figure 6.

In the form of Figure 9 there is also provided a small mirror, 7, which is hinged at 73 to the vanity case wall, adjacent to the hinge 23y, to secure the lid 2y to the vanity case 3.

It will be noticed that the whole structure has a unitary appearance, and that the lid, is

a lid both in function and appearance, the lid and watch appearance are merged in one which on a casual observance seems to present the conventional appearance of a lid and yet it serves as a watch and on close observance is seen to also present the appearance of a watch.
