UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ALBERT HAGEL, OF NE'W'ARK, NEW JERSEY, LASSIGNOR TO CHASE COMPANIES INC., 01 WATERBURY, CGNNECTICUT, A CORPORATION.
WRIST PACT.
Application fi1ed July 3, 1928. Serial No. 290,129.
My invention relates to an improved wrist pact, as vanity cases designed to be worn on the wrist are sometimes called, the object being to produce a device of the character described at a low cost for manufacture, of superior simplicity, convenience and V appearance.
With these ends in view, my invention consists in a wrist pact having certain details of construction and combinations of parts as will be hereinafter described and particularly pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings:
Fig; 4- is an enlarged sectional view on the line %4 of Fig. 1;
Fig. 5 is a detached perspective view of the case-body; and
Fig. 6 is a detached viewof one of the two ribbon-loops.
In carrying out my invention as herein shown, I employ an oblong ease-body 10 having four corresponding beveled corners 11 formed near their lower edges with pe forations 12 for the reception of the pintles 13. of two onepiece wire-loops 1% having centrailv-arranged outwardly- 'nojeeting oil scts the 'eception of the ribbons or ii) 101 straps which pass around the wrist of the of the pact. YJithin the said case- 7 ocate a bottomless oblong casel1nmg just enough shorter and narrower than L the ca se-body to fit snugly within the same but wider than the same is deep, so as to projectabove the upper edge thereof, as shown in at, to form a guard-flange 17. The four co ners of the said case-lining are correspondingly concaved at 18 so as to form ciearancespaces 19 within the case body for the reception and play of the pintles 13 of the wire-loops 1%, whereby also the powder contained within the case-lining prevented from working through the perforations 12 made in the beveled corners ll of the 'asebody for the reception and play of foration, two pivotal the pintles 13, as clearly shown in Fig. 3. The cover 20 of the pact is secured thereto by a hinge 21 and shuts over the projecting upper edge or flange 17 of the case-lining 16, thus forming a tight joint between the casebody and the cover. As shown, the cover is formed with a flat to 22, edge bevels 23 and corner bevels 2%, but the design of the cover may be varied as desired. As shown, the cover is locked in its closed position by a snap-spring 25 secured to the inner face of one end of the case-lining l6 and having a lug :26 projecting above the upper edge thereof and provided with a projection 27 snapping into a slot 28 in one end of the cover.
I claim:
1. A wrist pact having a case-body provided with four beveled corners each having a perforation, two pivotal wire loops having pintles entering the said perforations, and acase-lining fitted within the said casebody and having its four corners inset to clear the said pint-les and form clearancespaces for the same.
2. A wrist pact having a case-body formed with four beveled corners each having a perforation, t-wo pivotal Wire loops having pintles entering the said perforations, a case-lining fitted within the said case, projecting above the upper edge thereof and having its four corners ins-e: to provide elea rance-s paces for the loops, and a cover hinged to the said body and fitting over the with four beveled corners each having a perwire-loops having pintles entering the said perforations, a case lining fitted within the said case-body, having its four corners coneaved to clear the said pintles and form clearance-spaces therefor and adapted to projectabove the upper edge of the case-body, a cover hinged to the said body, and locking means for the cover. In testimony whereof, I have signed this specification.
ALBERT HAGEL.
