VV5 and 6,' the free end 2O will be pinched against the back fabric 5 and also closethe opening '12 to prevent movement of the 5o stay 13.

button 31 fastened thereto which cooperates with a clasp 14 which is fastened to the extension 9. A clasping element is provided to prevent relative movement of the stay with the strip 2. This clasping element comprises the button part 21 which is fastened to the keeper 3() and the socket part 22 which is fastened to the fabric 5 as shown in Fig. 8. Fastening the two parts, 21 and 22, together, thereby holds the stay 13 in proper position at all times and at the same timepermits its removal when desired.

AThe ankle encircling band or web 1 has a buckle 40 `fastened to one of its ends 41 as clearly shown in Fig. 4. This buckle is disposed at an angle to the band to cause the band to assume a conical or tapered shape when the' Afreeeiid 42-of the band is received by the buckle. This arrangement permits thel band to conform with the shape of the users ankle and overcomesbinding and chafing.

The invention is herebyl'claimed asV follows: 1. In a garment support ofthe class described, aflexible band adapted tobe applied above and to rest upon the ankle of alwearer,

a supporting means secured to and extending upwardly fromsaid eXible band, said ,Y supporting means including an elongated fabricl strip provided with an elongated pocket and a reinforcing member inserted within saidQpocket for lending rigidity to said supporting means, closure means extending' across the upper portion ofsaid pocket at a point adjacent the upper extremity of the reinforcing memberfitopprevent any appreciable relative movement betweeny the fabric strip and the reinforcing member, and agarment fastening device secured to the upper r"extremity of 'said supporting means to receive the garment to be supported. e
