vision of such a case, the parts of which may be readily disassembled for repair or renewal purposes in order that when breakage of dierent parts occur it will not be necessary to procure an entirely new case.
A further Vand important object is 'to provide a case of this character that is adapted to receive a sterilizing fluid in order that the same may be repeatedly used with difn ferent patientsv and without requiring a separate sterilizing operation at the time of each use.
A.' further and important object is to provide such a case for receiving a sterilizing iiuid, that is so constructed as to absolutely prevent the leakage of the fluid at all times regardless of whether or not the thermometer is within the case or withdrawn therefrom.
Yet another object is to provide means as a part of the case that will eectively remove the sterilizing fluid from the thermometer during the withdrawal of the same from the case.
An additional and important object is to provide a case of this character wherein the thermometer may be disposed within or removed from the casey without requiring the removal of the case from the pocket.
Other and important objects will become apparent as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same comprising the novel form, combination, and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.

Now havin@ )articular reference to the drawing, my novel invention constitutes the provision of a/ relatively elongated tubular container 5 preferably of glass that is adapted to be totally, or partially filled with a sterilizing liquid.

At the connecting point betwen the gland 9 and ferrule 10 there is formed an internal shoulder 11 that is engaged by the flange of the innermost packing ring 8 for preventing the downward sliding movement of the receptacle within said gland.
Disposed upon the openvend of the receptacle is a rubber disc 12 that is held in this position through the medium of a hollow se.- curing nut 13 of circular cross section, the lower edge of which is reduced in cross sectional area and is of tapered formation and externally threaded for threaded engagement within the projecting end of the gland 9. Between the nut and disc 13 and 12 respectively, is a Washer 1li for preventing tearing of the disc during the turning movement of the nut and gland.
Adapted to be disposed between the shoulder formed upon the exterior surface of the nut through reason of the extension. and the gland 9 is a metallic ring 15 that has formed upon its edge a pocket securing clip 16 of conventional design in order that the case may be readily secured within the vest or coat pocket of the physician in an obvious manner. v

ln Carrying out my invention the 'clinical thermometer' 17 is provided at its upper end with a metallic head 18 formed with an eX- ternally threaded nipple 19 thatvis adapted to be threaded within a threaded opening` 2O in the hollow nut 13 for obviously securing` the thermometer within the case after the same has been disposed therein.
The rubber disc 12 is 'formed with a eros slit 21' through which the thermometer 17 gasses, it being obvious that when the then mometer is removed, the edges of the slit will contact for providing a Huid tight closure 'for the open end of the receptacle, thus preventing the leakage of the sterilizing material therein.
lt will also be understood that as the thermometer is being withdrawn from the case, the edges of said slit will wipe the same for removing` thereform the sterilizing fluid that would otherwise adhere thereto.
ltwill thus be seen that l have provided a highly novel, simple, and efhcient form ot clinical thermometer case that is readily adapted for all the purposes hereinbetore designated, and even though I have herein shown and described the same as comprising certain detail structural elements, it is nevertheless to be understood that modications may be had in so far as said structural elements is concerned without departing; trom the spirit and scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to "secure by Letters Patent isz-V A clinical thermometer for pocket use comprising; an elongated receptacle of general cylindrical form closed at one end and provided at its' opposite end with a thickened portion providing a restricted opening for passage of a thermometer, a gland carried by the last named end of the receptacle and provided with an inwardly extending sleeve for surrounding the adjacent portion of the receptacle, said gland being internally screw threaded and having a portion extending` beyond the open end or the receptacle, a Collar-nut havinpl a reduced screw threaded portion capped into said gland, a compressible disk interposed betweesaid nut and the open end of said reitacie, said disk having a central slit in i i*istry with said opening, said nut having an external shoulder, a ring surrounding said nut and clamped between said shoulder and said gland, and a resilient pocket clasp carried by said rinf` and adapted to hold the device in the users pocket, together with a thermometer including` a head detachably connected with said nut, the lthermometer extendingthrough the slit in said dislr. the opening` in said receptacle and into the interior of the receptacle.
