IMPROVEMENT IN FISHING-ROD HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 142,126, dated August 26, 1873 application filed April 24, 1873.
v To all whom it may concern:
' that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon. I
The nature of my invention consists in providing a substantial support for the pole, thereby preventing the same from being stuck in the mud or held by the hand. v
To enable others to understand my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
I construct my pole-set by making a hollow tube of metal, such as iron, brass, or other material, about seven inches long, from threefourths to one and a fourth inch in diameter,
as shown at A, clo sedat one end, 0, with a corresponding tube, running at an angle, about two and a half inches long, and one to one and a half inch in diameter, as shown at B. U is a Wooden pin, of any given length, say about one foot, sharp at one end, so as to be easily stuck into the ground, and the head should be of a size to fit in said tube B. D is the pole, thatfits loosely in tube A; E being the mouth of the tube, wherein the pole rests. The pole is easily taken out and put in. The tube B can be tightened on pin 0 by means of a set-screw, S, in slot F. What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isy A fishing-rod holder, consisting of the tubes A and B, in combination with the stake C, substantially as described.
