To all whom t may concern:

'Be it known that l, JAMES H. Prr'rs, a citizen of the United States, and resident of McKeesport, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful lmprovements in Sales Books, of which the following is a specication.

This invention relates to manifold sales books, and more particularly to books of this class for making triplicate sales records, and has for one of its objects the provision of a novel carbon sheet for such books.

Another object of the invention is the..pro` vision of a novel bookl of this class in which one of the records will be made on both sides of a transparent sheet, thus providinga distinct record.

A still further object of the invention is to provide a record on the transparent sheet that will effectively prevent'alterations after it kgs been made.

ln practice the folded carbon-member folded upon itself so that the full length oi: carbon is inside and forms opposite carbon faces, and the half length or carbon is on the bottom, and the' carbon is interposed in this position between the original and duplicate record sheets 8 and When it is desired to use' the book, the original record Sheet 8 and top half of carbon (the length of single carbon 17) is pulled upwardly away from the duplicate sheet 9 and lower half of carbon, and one of the tissue sheets or leaves lll of the triplicate pad is interposed between the halves of the carbon sheet, and the top half of the ,carbon sheet and original record sheet are replaced over the tissuesheet. When thus positioned any insoription on the original record sheet 8 will be duplicated on both sides of the triplicate tissue'sheet 14 and on the top side of the -'duplicate sheet 9. Thus a clear and distinct copy is made on the tissue sheet 14, a good duplicate copy is made, and the back of the original sheet 8-'is kept clean and free of carbon.

Another feature of the double copy on the tissue is that such a copy is almost impos-I or pads, and `many modifications of its application will readily Suggest themselves to those skilled in the. art.
