Continuous with theouter end of thestraight portion 23 of the side drape support is a rearwardly curved portion 2-3., and continuous with the rear or inner end of the curved portion 23 is an inwardly extending oblique portion 23 that lies parallel with and against the horizontal portion of the hinged curtain rod support, preferably lying directly in rear of the forwardly inclined portion 17 of the latter; and these engaging parts of the curtain rod supportand theside drape hanger are permanently and strongly united by a sleeve or ferrule 24. In order to pre' vent the side drape support from accidentally being pulled out of the sleeve or ferrule, the parts 23 and 17 are preferably interlocked, as by forming one or more notches or indentations 25 in one of the parts and teeth 26 on the other engaged with said notches or indentations. Obviously, when the ferrule 25" is applied and clamped on the parts, the latter are securely locked together. T he free end of the side drape support23 is preferably formed with an outwardly turned hook 27 which prevents accidental slipping 011' of the side drape when once applied. 7 I

It will be obvious, by reference to Fig.

7 2, that the curved elbow portion 23 of the side drape hanger lies directly outside of and opposite the outer curved end 21 of the main curtain rod 21, so that in applying the latter to the'curtain rod, support 17 it isimpossible to project the outer end of the main curtain rod beyond the, position defined by the curved portion 28 of the side drape hanger; this position being one which permits the outward swinging movement of the curtain rod'support without interference with the window frame. Hence, the described side drape hanger possesses the double function of supporting the side 'dape 'and insuring a positioning of the main curtain rod that will permit the entire assembly to swing-freely on its vertizal hinge without interference from the window frame. It will also be readily ap'-' parent that the described construction pernnts the 1112.111 curtain rod 21 to"-be removed and -appl1'ed, whenever necessary or desirthe side drape. Y
