To allwhom it may concern: 7 Be it known that I, Josnrn DORY, a citizen of the United States, residing at St.

An object of the invention is the provision of a saw clamp which may be quickly folded and transported to a convenientplace for use and quickly and easily set up and adjusted to suit the height of the user and the condition of the surface upon which it rests.
Another object is the provision of a saw clamp in which the clamping members may be adjusted to convenient position for sharpening the drag teeth and to position for sharpening the cutting teeth from 1 either side of the saw,so as to obtain the proper cutting angles of the last mentioned teeth.
Other objects and advantages of the inventionwill appear as thefollowing description is read in connection with the accompanying drawings. 1

the end blocks 11 is formed by a bolt 12,
which is provided with a winged head 13 and whose threaded end is engaged by a nut 14: located within a socket 15 formed in the body'member 10. One of these bolts 12 is located at each end ofthe body member so that the latter is capable of pivotal movement thereon.
Hingedly secured to each of the end blocks 11 are supportin legs 16, the hinged connection between tlie legs and the end block being indicated at 17. Each of the legs 16 has secured thereto one end of a spring member 18, the opposite end of this member being split to provide curve-d extremity 19 which is adapted to enter an opening 20 provided in the end block 11. The springs 1.8 are further provided with finger pieces 21, by means of which the curved extremities 19 may be conveniently removed from or inserted into the opening 20. In order to increase the resiliency of the springs 18, there is provided an adjusting screw 22, one of these-screws passing through each of the springs 18 and bearing against the adjacent leg 16. The lower ends of the legs 16 carry adjustable extensions 23 so that the device may be adjusted to suit the height of the user, or the legs adjusted to the uneven surface upon which the vise or clamp rests.
For the purpose of holding the legs in extended position, there is pivotally secured as indicated at 24, near each end of the body member 10, one end of a brace 25, the opposite end of this brace being detachably con nected to one of the legs 16 as indicated at 26. When it is desired to fold the legs beneath the body member 10, the connection 26 is detached from the leg and folded upward withina groove 27 formed in the lower edge of the body member 10, this groove being of suflicient depth to receive both braces 25, in which they may be held by means of a pivotally mounted retaining element 28.
The body member 10 carries the clamp for holding the saw blade and for this purpose the said body member is formed into a rigid jaw 29 which extends longitudinally of the device and carries at each end a block 30, whose upper surface provides a rest for the back of the saw blade. As a further connection between the body member 10 and the end blocks 11, the block 30 carries an eye bolt 31 which is secured thereto by means of a nut 32 which is positioned within an opening 33 formed in the said block 30, while the as shown at 35.

The rigid jaw 29 forms one jaw of the clamp or vise, while the other jaw 3e is hingedly connected to the body member 10 In order to hold the jaw 34 in adjusted position with respect to the jaw 29, the latter carries adjusting bolts 36, which pass through both of said jaws and which is provided with a winged adjusting nut 37. A spring 38 surrounds the bolt 36 between the jaws 29 and 84c. The saw may thus be clamped between the jaws 29 and 3e with its back resting upon the blocks 30,where it will be rigidly held and stiffened throughout its length.
In order to hold the clamp which is in vertical position for convenience in sharpening the drag teeth of a saw, there is providedin each of the end block 11 a pivoted .stop 39, one oi 'said stops being positioned upon either side of the body member 10. These pivoted stops 39 are capable of being moved out of the path of the body members so that the latter may be moved to either of the positions shown by the dotted lines in Fig. 2 and when in such position will rest against the inclined walls 40 formed by a notched or. cut away portion of the end blocks 11. The saw blade will thus be in convenient position for sharpening the cutting teeth of the saw.
The invention is susceptible of various changes in'its form, proportions and minor detailsor" construction'and the right is herein reserved'to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended claims.
Having described the invention what is claimed is:
l. A saw set comprising supporting members, end blocks carried thereby, a body member pivotally secured between the end blocks and capable of horizontal swinging movement, clamping jaws carried by the body member, said jaws extending through the end blocks and stops formed on the end blocks and located in the path of the jaws for limiting the pivotal movement of the latter. 7
2. A saw set comprising supporting members, end blocks carried thereby, a body member pivotally secured between the end blocks and capable of horizontal swinging movement, clamping j'aws carried by the body member, said blocks being recessed to receive the jaws and stops formed by the opposite walls of the recesses to limit the pivotal movement of the jaws.
3. A saw set comprising supporting members, endblocks carried thereby, a body member positioned between the end blocks, pivot bolts extending from the body member through the end blocks to provide a horizontal swinging mounting for the body member, clamping jaws carried by the clamping member and extending through the end blocks, eye bolts secured to the clamping jaws and engageable over the pivot bolts and adjusting nuts mounted upon the pivot bolts and cngageable with the eye bolts to provide an adjustable pivotal mounting for the jaws.
