ln the example et my improvements illustrated in the accompanying drawings the bon is provided with compartments for the retention oit a saiety raser, razor blades and a razor strop, an inner wall ofthe bor; hav ing a seat or .qccess for the handle o the rarer, the bei. having a. movable cover or top wall and movable side wall permitting ready access to the contents et the box.
Beter-enfe- .is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, wherein,
Figure l is a plan view ot the bor, showing the cover and movable side wall ther-eet opened out;
Fig. 2 is a side view of Fig. 1;
`llig. 3 is a` cross section substantially on the line 3, 3, in Fig. l, and
Fig. l is a perspective illustrating the box closed.
Similar numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several views.
The body portion 1 otmy improved `box is shown in rectangular form having one side and the top portion open. The rear side l and the ends 1b are secured te the bottom 1 of the bon, providing an opentop and an open trent side opposite to the rear side 1a. At 2 is a cover hinged to the rear side 1u by any suitable means at 3, adapted to be swung down over the open top ot the bor to close, and to be swung baclr to open, the bor in 'an `ordinary manner. The front side l oit the bor is movable and is shown hinged to the bottom of the bon by hinging means 5, whereby said iront side may be swung away, as in 3, to permit access laterally to contents ol' the bor through the open side thereof, which side llmay be swung against the ends lb when the box is closed, as illustrated in Fig. 1l. I have shown complemental fastening devices on cover 2 and side et for retaining the same closed. The cover 2 is shown provided with a tab 6, which may be a piece of leather, glued or otherwise suitably secured to cover 2, said tab being shown provided with one member l oil' a fastening device, the other member S oli' whi h is shown attached to the side t. The` members 7 and 8 may be in the nature of ordinary glove fasteners, whereby when the cover 2 and side t are closed and the said meml ers are snapped together, the cover'and side l will be retained closed, and may be readily opened by merely pulling out the tab to release the fastening devices. Within the bon several compartments are provided to receive dill'erent articles of utility. I have shown a transversely disposed wall 9 within the boli, spaced above the bottom thereof by means olf upwardly disposed spaced partitions l0 secured to the bottom ol the box, providing a compartment 11 beneath wall 9 and between partitions 10, compartments 12 being shown located atopposits ends ot the box between thc corresponding ents 1b o t the boi; and the adjacent partitions 1.0. rlhe traine or head portion 13 ot a salety razor is adapted to be iitted in one oit the compartments 12, and the Wall 9 is shown provided with a longitudinally disposed seat or recess la adapted to receive the handle 13a of the razor, as illustrated in Fig. 2. The scat or recess 14 leads through the` ends ot' wall 9 to' afford proper seating and tting 'tor the end portions oi handle 13a. Razor blades 15 may be placed in the appropriate compartment 12, which blades lmay be ltept in a small box or carton 16, adapted to lit within said compertinent. Ait 17 are upturned relatively shallow ribs or located at the outer ends of compartments 12, at the `open side oit the box', to serve as abutments toprevent the contents oit compartments 12 from slid ing out laterally when the side 4 is opened. A folded strop 1S may be inserted in compartment 11, beneath wall 9 and between the spaced partitions 10, through the open side ot the box when side 4l is opened, the strop thereby being snugly retained beneath the handle ol the razor. Thewall 9 may be cut away along its outer edge at 9a to permit access to the strop in compartment 11.
The box parts 1, i, 1, 2 and 4 may be made 'of wood, pasteboard or the like,.and suitably covered with leather or fabric in any well known manner, and the Wall 9 having seat 14 with the partitions 10 and ribs or ianges 17 may be stamped from a sheet ot'metal and set within the box and secured thereto inany 'suitable manner. rhe end portions of said metal sheet may be upturned at 9b and located along the ends 1b of the box, serving to strengthen the box, and the ribs 17 maybe nptnrned from said metal, webs oi said metal at 9 extending along the bottom of the box. The lasty named parts may be covered with leather, fabric or the like, if desired.
My improvements atl'ord a simple, inexpensive and convenient box or receptacle within which to store articles otntility, Such as described, whereby the diiierent articles may be kept in their appropriate places in the box and may be readily reached for use. rIhe arrangement, further, is such as to keep the razor in proper position so that lit will not be injured during transportation,
since the head of the razor will be retained 1n one compartment, its handle will be retained in the Seat 14, and the razor will be held down by the cover when closed.
