Pivotally connected and more particularly to a utility chest or servat 19 to the opposite ends of the box-body 10 are ice kit for tools, fishing tackle, artists materials, vertically-swinging links or guide elements 20, and many other like purposes. which are pivotally jointed at their opposite ends,
Oneof its objects is the provision of a utility as indicated at 21, to the front end portions of chest of this character having a supplementary the tray 15. By this construction, as the cover is tray therein which is movable with the cover relopened and closed, the tray is moved therewith ativeto the box-body to assume a position for in a substantially horizontal path, the radii bethe ready convenience of the user without intertween the cover-hinge 12 and the tray-hinge 16 lo fering with or obstructing access to the contents and that between the pivoted ends 19 and 21 of in the box-body. thelinks 20 being the same or approximately the Another object of the invention is to provide same, whereby tipping of the tray is prevented. a utility chest or kit which is simple, compact In the open position of the cover, the disposiand inexpensive in construction, which provides tion or the tray-hinge 16 and links 20 is such that h v l means o S pp an auxiliary tray 01 the tray 15 rests with its bottom squarely on the 15 compartment between the box-body and the cover, rear top edge of the box-body l0 and at about and which will not tip during the movements, of substantially'midway between theiront and rear the cover to its open and closed positions. walls of the tray, whereby the weight of the tray In he ac p ny ng draw1ng:-Figure 1 is a and its contents is forwardly of the cover hinge 12 perspective view of the utility chest embodying andis supported directly by the box-body, reliev- 20 y invention Figure 2 is a e ar ed perspecing the cover from undue strain and positively tive view of the same showing the cover in its preventing the tray and its contents from tipp n p sition.
