A strip serving device including in combination a device for rendering tape adhesive, a holder for a supply roll of tape, a platen between these two over which the tape passes, and tape guides adapted to lie on the platen along the edge of the tape and covering its adjacent top; said guides having end portions overlying the tape considerably 'and having recessed central portions overl ing it only slightly, whereby the tape is helyd with nearly its entire width exposed to receive writing.

A strip serving device including in combination a device for rendering tape adholder for a supply roll of tape; a platen over which the tape passes between these two; ta e guides supported. on the platen; thev p aten having slots extending transversely inward from each side at two places, nearly to its center, forming guide slots for adjustment of said tape guides; anda base for the apparatus having supports at each side for the platen forward and back of each of its said transverse slots.
