ALEXANDER IVICCULLOOH, OF EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA.
STREET-CAR-TICKET HOLDER.
Application filed September 10, 1912.
1/ '0 all "whom it may concern Be it kno-wn that I, ALEXANDER MCCUL- Loon, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing in the city of Edmonton, in the Province of Alberta, in the Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Street-Car-Ticket Holders, of which the following is the speciication.
This invention relates to improvement-s in street car ticket holders of the type in which tickets are adapted to be ejected one by one through the end of the box or con tainer, and the objects of the invention are to generally simplify and improve the construction of the device so as to enable it to be-more cheaply manufactured and the operative parts assembled more readily in position, and it consists essentially of the improved construction hereinafter described in detail in the accompanying specifications and drawings.
In the drawings, Figure is a perspective view of the ticket holder. Fig. 2 is the same view with the cover open. Fig. 3 is the same view with some tickets in the box. Fig. t is a. longitudinal section through the box. Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the follower plate. Fig. G is a perspective View of the retaining member.
Referring to the drawings, A represents a rectangular box or container preferably constructed of sheet metal and having a hinged cover B provided with slots 10 and 11 in which reciprocate an ejector member C having teeth 12 adapted to engage the top of the tickets.
D represents the follower plate normally forced upwardly from the bottom of the box by means of bow-shaped springs 13. The side edges of the follower plate are formed with projecting-tongues 14- adapted to engage in grooves 15 which are pressed in the sides of the case.

adapted to extend over the pile of tickets.
It will be noted that the member E is not permanently attached to the holder and may therefore be adjusted to bear against and return tickets of different lengths.
The invention operates in the following manner: The tickets are forced against the cover and are ejected by a. reciprocating ejecting member, a slot 1S being provided in one end of the casing to permitof eject-ing of the tickets.
As many changes could be made in the above construction and many apparently widely different embodiments of my invention within the scope of the claim, constructed without departing fro-m the spirit or scope thereof, it is intended that all matter contained in the accompanying specification and drawings shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
That I claim as my invention is:
A street car ticket holder comprising a casing, a hinged cover having a reciprocable ejector, a follower plate having a slot therein, a removable retaining member fitting in the casing, said retaining member having an upwardly projecting cent-ral portion projecting 'through the slot in the follower plate and lateral portions adapted to engage the sides of the holder, said central portion having an inwardly projecting lip adapted to project over the tickets on the follower plate, as and for the purpose specified.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two witnesses.
ALEXANDER MCCUIJLOCH.
