Abstract
A method for predicting fracture healing comprises clinical examination, radiography. The method further provides for detection of genetic polymorphism of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR C677T), nitric oxide synthase (eNOS T 786) and measurement of C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukine-6 (IL-6) concentration. The fracture healing may be predicted if homozygous carrier status of 677-CT, 786-TC is revealed and the level of CRP is 1.7-5.2 mg/l and that of IL-6 is 3.3-8.8 ng/ml.
