Abstract

The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular the out-of-furnace cast iron treatment. A compact-material for ladle treatment of cast-iron consists of steel casing and fining slag and metal powder mixture containing burned dolomite (BDM), carbon material in the form of ferric-graphite waste (FGW) of the blast-furnace production - refining foam, granular magnesium (Mg), aluminosilicate phase in the form of screenings of chamotte refractory (SCR), at the following ratio of ingredients: BDM: FGW: SCR: Mg = (4-5): (8-10): (5-7): 1 and in correlation with stoichiometric composition of aluminum silicate of eutectic type 3CaMgOAlO3Si. The use of the slag and metal mixture in the proposed compact material (flux cored wire) allows to decrease its cost by an order in comparison with the previously applicable.
