Abstract
A method for processing iron-containing waste materials includes their mixing with carbon reducing agent, with the addition of binding agent, drying briquettes, charging of C-briquettes together with other iron-containing co-products, coke and flux into the shaft furnace, their melting, iron reducing, tapping produced metal and slag melts. Peat activated with alkaline earth activator is used as the carbon reducing agent.
