Abstract

Provided is an additive composition for metal sintering, which comprises an alkali metal compound that is added together with calcium carbonate constituting a melting accelerator for lowering the melting point in the process of sintering iron ore or the like, in such a way as to be able to economise on a heat source such as coal or coke which is necessary for the sintering of the iron ore, reduce the melting point of the sintered ore and enhance sintering efficiency by means of a chemical mechanism wherein the additive composition is additionally used together with the alkali metal compound during the sintering of the iron ore; the alkali metal compound being one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium.
