Abstract

FIELD: medicinal microbiology, nutrient media. SUBSTANCE: method involves addition of selective component - antibiotic of semisynthetic penicillin class. Use of selective medium ensures to isolate at least 76% active strains showing persistence property. Medium can be used for differential diagnosis, in bacteriological investigations and for early detection of persisting escherichia cells both in organism and in environment. EFFECT: new nutrient medium indicated above, enhanced effectiveness of medium.

Claims (1)

Nutrient medium for the isolation of Escherichia with persistent properties belongs to the field of medical microbiology, hygiene and sanitation, and in particular to a nutrient medium for the isolation of Escherichia. The essence of the invention is the creation of a new nutrient medium that allows you to selectively isolate Escherichia, with the property of persistence. The indicated effect is achieved by adding a selective component to the Endo medium, an antibiotic of the class of semisynthetic penicillins. The use of the proposed nutrient medium allows the early detection of persistent Escherichia due to the reduction of their identification when isolating from the human body and environmental objects, in particular water sources. The nutrient medium can be used in the clinic when solving problems of differential diagnosis, as well as in sanitary and hygienic practice in bacteriological studies of water use facilities. Using a selective medium makes it possible to isolate at least 76% of the active strains from the total number of strains with the property of persistence.
