- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.ポリマの第1の相と、該第1の相内に配置された第2の相と、を含んでな る光学体であって、 該第2の相は、任意の3つの互いに垂直な軸のうちの少なくとも2つの軸に沿 って不連続であり、 30°〜60°の範囲にわたって測定された相対利得の平均が垂直入射における相 対利得よりも大きい前記光学体。 2.ポリマの第1の相と、該第1の相内に配置された第2の相と、を含んでな る光学体であって、 該第2の相は、任意の3つの互いに垂直な軸のうちの少なくとも2つの軸に沿 って不連続であり、 60°における相対利得が垂直入射における相対利得と少なくとも等しい前記光 学体。 3.60°における相対利得と垂直入射における相対利得との差が少なくとも約 0.1である、請求項2記載の光学体。 4.60°における相対利得と垂直入射における相対利得との差が少なくとも約 0.2である、請求項2記載の光学体。 5.60°における相対利得と垂直入射における相対利得との差が少なくとも約 0.3である、請求項2記載の光学体。 6.ポリマの第1の相と、該第1の相内に配置された第2の相と、を含んでな る光学体であって、 該第2の相は、任意の3つの互いに垂直な軸のうちの少なくとも2つの軸に沿 って不連続であり、 角度の関数としての最大相対利得が30°〜60°の範囲内に存在する前記光学体 。 7.前記第1の相の屈折率と前記第2の相の屈折率との差が、第 1の軸に沿って約0.05より大きく、かつ該第1の軸に直交する第2の軸に沿って 約0.05より小さい、請求項1記載の光学体。 8.前記第1の相が少なくとも約0.1の複屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の光 学体。 9.前記第1の相が少なくとも約0.15の複屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の光 学体。 10.前記第1の相が少なくとも約0.2の複屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の 光学体。 11.前記第2の相が約0.02未満の複屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の光学体 。 12.前記第2の相が約0.01未満の複屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の光学体 。 13.前記第2の相が、前記第1の軸に沿って、前記第1の相の屈折率との差 が約0.1より大きい屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の光学体。 14.前記第2の相が、前記第1の軸に沿って、前記第1の相の屈折率との差 が約0.15より大きい屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の光学体。 15.前記第2の相が、前記第1の軸に沿って、前記第1の相の屈折率との差 が約0.2より大きい屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の光学体。 16.前記第2の相が、前記第2の軸に沿って、前記第1の相の屈折率との差 が約0.03より小さい屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の光学体。 17.前記第2の相が、前記第2の軸に沿って、前記第1の相の屈折率との差 が約0.01より小さい屈折率を有する、請求項1記載の光学体。 18.前記第1の相と前記第2の相が全体として、電磁放射線の両方の偏光に 対して、前記少なくとも1つの軸に沿って少なくとも約50%の拡散反射率を有す る、請求項1記載の光学体。 19.前記光学体が、電磁放射線の第1の偏光に対して、約50%より大きい全 反射率を有し、かつ該第1の偏光に直交する電磁放射線の第2の偏光に対して、 約50%より大きい全透過率を有する、請求項1記載の光学体。 20.前記光学体が、前記電磁放射線の第1の偏光に対して、約60%より大き い全反射率を有する、請求項19記載の光学体。 21.前記光学体が、前記電磁放射線の第1の偏光に対して、約70%より大き い全反射率を有する、請求項19記載の光学体。 22.前記光学体が、前記電磁放射線の第2の偏光に対して、約60%より大き い全透過率を有する、請求項19記載の光学体。 23.前記光学体が、前記電磁放射線の第2の偏光に対して、約70%より大き い全透過率を有する、請求項19記載の光学体。 24.第1の偏光と直交するように偏光された光の少なくとも約40%が、約8 °未満の偏向角で前記光学体を介して透過される、請求項1記載の光学体。 25.第1の偏光と直交するように偏光された光の少なくとも約60%が、約8 °未満の偏向角で前記光学体を介して透過される、請求項1記載の光学体。 26.第1の偏光と直交するように偏光された光の少なくとも約70%が、約8 °未満の偏向角で前記光学体を介して透過される、請求項1記載の光学体。 27.前記第1の相が熱可塑性樹脂を含む、請求項1記載の光学体。 28.前記熱可塑性樹脂が、ビニル芳香族モノマから誘導される シンジオタクチックビニル芳香族ポリマである、請求項27記載の光学体。 29.前記熱可塑性樹脂がシンジオタクチックポリスチレンのインタポリマ単 位を含む、請求項27記載の光学体。 30.前記熱可塑性樹脂がポリエチレンナフタレートを含む、請求項27記載 の光学体。 31.前記第2の相がシンジオタクチックポリスチレンを含む、請求項30記 載の光学体。 32.前記第2の相もまた、少なくとも1つの熱可塑性ポリマを含む、請求項 27記載の光学体。 33.前記光学体が少なくとも約2の延伸比まで延伸される、請求項1記載の 光学体。 34.前記光学体が少なくとも約4の延伸比まで延伸される、請求項1記載の 光学体。 35.前記光学体が少なくとも約6の延伸比まで延伸される、請求項1記載の 光学体。 36.前記第1の相と前記第2の相が混和しない、請求項1記載の光学体。 37.前記第2の相が、実質的に共通軸に沿って配列された主要軸をもつ複数 の細長い塊を含む、請求項1記載の光学体。 38.前記細長い塊が少なくとも約2のアスペクト比を有する、請求項1記載 の光学体。 39.前記細長い塊が少なくとも約5のアスペクト比を有する、請求項1記載 の光学体。 40.前記第2の相が複数のロッド状構造物を含む、請求項1記載の光学体。 41.前記光学体が少なくとも2つの方向に配向している、請求 項1記載の光学体。 42.前記第2の相が、前記第1の相に対して少なくとも約1体積%の量で存 在する、請求項1記載の光学体。 43.前記第2の相が、前記第1の相に対して約5体積%〜約50体積%の量で 存在する、請求項1記載の光学体。 44.前記第2の相が、前記第1の相に対して約15体積%〜約30体積%の量で 存在する、請求項1記載の光学体。 45.前記第2の相が、任意の3つの互いに垂直な軸のうちの少なくとも2つ の軸に沿って不連続である、請求項1記載の光学体。 46.前記分散相が、任意の3つの互いに垂直な軸に沿って不連続である、請 求項1記載の光学体。 47.可視、紫外、または赤外の電磁放射線の少なくとも1つの偏光に対して 、前記第1の相と前記第2の相の全体としての少なくとも1つの軸に沿う拡散反 射率が、少なくとも約30%である、請求項1記載の光学体。 48.前記光学体の消光比が約3より大きい、請求項1記載の光学体。 49.前記光学体の消光比が約5より大きい、請求項1記載の光学体。 50.前記光学体の消光比が約10より大きい、請求項1記載の光学体。 51.前記光学体がフィルムであり、かつ前記第1の相と前記第2の相の屈折 率差が、該フィルムの表面に対して垂直な軸に沿って約0.05未満である、請求項 1記載の光学体。 52.前記電磁放射線が正反射軸のまわりに異方的に分配される、請求項51 記載の光学体。 53.前記光学体が少なくとも1方向に延伸され;更に、前記電 磁放射線の少なくとも1つの偏光の拡散反射部分が、主として、延伸方向を向く 軸と正反射方向を含む表面とを有する円錐の表面に沿ってまたはその近傍に分配 される、請求項52記載の光学体。 54.前記第2の相が、共通の方向に配列された伸長軸をもつ細長い混在物を 含み;前記光学体が少なくとも1方向に延伸され;更に、前記電磁放射線の少な くとも1つの偏光の拡散反射部分が、主として、該伸長軸の方向を向く軸と正反 射方向を含む表面とを有する円錐の表面に沿ってまたはその近傍に分配される、 請求項52記載の光学体。 55.前記電磁放射線が正透過軸のまわりに異方的に分配される、請求項51 記載の光学体。 56.前記光学体が少なくとも1方向に延伸され;第1の偏光と直交するよう に偏光された光の少なくとも約40%が拡散透過し;更に、該拡散透過光が、主と して、分光透過方向を含む表面と延伸方向を向く軸とを有する円錐の表面に沿っ てまたはその近傍に分配される、請求項1記載の光学体。 57.前記第2の相が、共通の方向に配列された伸長軸をもつ細長い混在物を 含み;前記光学体が少なくとも1方向に延伸され;更に、前記電磁放射線の少な くとも1つの偏光の拡散透過部分が、主として、該伸長軸の方向を向く軸と拡散 透過方向を含む表面とを有する円錐の表面に沿ってまたはその近傍に分配される 、請求項1記載の光学体。 58.前記光学体がフィルムであり、かつ前記第1の相と前記第2の相の屈折 率差が、該フィルムの表面に対して垂直な軸に沿って約0.02未満である、請求項 1記載の光学体。 59.少なくとも約0.05の複屈折率を有する第1の相と、該第1の相内に配置 された第2の相と、を含んでなる光学体であって、 該第1の相と該第2の相の屈折率の差の絶対値は、第1の軸に沿ってΔn1、該 第1の軸に直交する第2の軸に沿ってΔn2であり;Δn1とΔn2との差の絶対値は 少なくとも約0.05であり;更に、60°における相対利得は、垂直入射における相 対利得に少なくとも等しい、前記光学体。 60.前記第1の相と前記第2の相の全体としての拡散反射率が、少なくとも 1つの軸に沿って、かつ電磁放射線の少なくとも1つの偏光に対して、少なくと も約30%である、請求項59記載の光学体。 61.Δn1とΔn2との差の絶対値が少なくとも約0.1である、請求項59記載 の光学体。 62.前記第1の相が前記第2の相よりも大きな複屈折率を有する、請求項5 9記載の光学体。 63.前記第1の相の複屈折率が、前記第2の相の複屈折率よりも、少なくと も0.02大きい、請求項62記載の光学体。 64.前記第1の相の複屈折率が、前記第2の相の複屈折率よりも、少なくと も0.05大きい、請求項61記載の光学体。
