Abstract

【課題】輝度の低下を極力抑制した状態で、ぼかしの程度を向上させて干渉縞等による輝度不均一化を抑制することができる光学シートを提供すると共に、その光学シートを有する面光源装置と表示装置を提供する。 【解決手段】透光性基材１２と、透光性基材１２の一方の面Ｓ１に設けられた、単位プリズム１４又は単位レンズを複数配列してなる光学要素１６と、前記一方の面Ｓ１と光学要素１６との間に及び／又は透光性基材１２の他方の面Ｓ２上に設けられた光拡散層とを有し、その光拡散層のうち少なくとも一方の光拡散層１８が光拡散要素としての空隙部２２を有するように構成する。このとき、空隙部２２が平面視で１軸方向に配向した略楕円形であることが好ましい。
