Claims (6)

  1. Une méthode de production d'un combustible fossile liquide désulfuré de façon poussée, approprié à la combustion, sans désulfuration postcombustion, ledit combustible ayant une teneur en soufre résiduelle totale inférieure à environ 0,05% du poids, la méthode comprenant les étapes de :
    (a) soumettre un combustible fossile liquide contenant du soufre organique, ledit soufre organique comprenant des hétérocycles aromatiques portant du soufre, à
    i) une hydrodésulfuration (HDS) ou
    ii) une désulfuration catabolique microbienne (MDS),
    par laquelle ledit combustible fossile liquide est appauvri en ce qui concerne les formes de soufre organique susceptibles d'être enlevées par HDS ou MDS, mais n'est pas essentiellement appauvri en hétérocycles aromatiques portant du soufre; et
    (b) soumettre le combustible fossile liquide contenant des hétérocycles aromatiques portant du soufre à une désulfuration biocatalytique (BDS), ledit traitement BDS comprenant
    i) la mise en contact dudit combustible fossile liquide avec un biocatalyseur comprenant
    A) un ou plusieurs microorganismes exprimant des enzymes qui catalysent, par une réaction de clivage spécifique du soufre, l'enlèvement du soufre, à partir d'hétérocycles aromatiques portant du soufre, de sorte que des molécules organiques désulfurées et du soufre inorganique sont produits, à partir de ceux-ci,
    B) des enzymes obtenues à partir de tels microorganismes, ou
    C) des mélanges de tels microorganismes et d'enzymes;
    ii) l'incubation du combustible fossile liquide avec le biocatalyseur, pour enlever du soufre, à partir d'hétérocycles aromatiques portant du soufre grâce audit biocatalyseur, au moyen duquel des molécules organiques désulfurées et du soufre inorganique sont produits; et
    iii) la séparation des molécules organiques désulfurées et du soufre inorganique produits lors de l'incubation de l'étape (b) (ii),
    la combinaison de l'étape (a) avec l'étape (b) étant suffisante pour produire un combustible fossile liquide ayant une teneur en soufre résiduelle totale inférieure à environ 0,05% du poids.
  2. Une méthode, conformément à la revendication 1, dans laquelle le combustible fossile liquide est soumis à un traitement HDS, dans l'étape (a).
  3. Une méthode, conformément à la revendication 2, dans laquelle le biocatalyseur enlève du soufre des hétérocycles aromatiques portant du soufre, par une réaction de clivage oxydative spécifique du soufre, en présence d'oxygène.
  4. Une méthode, conformément à la revendication 3, dans laquelle le biocatalyseur comprend une culture des bactéries Rhodococcus rhodochrous ATCC No. 53968 ou un dérivé de celle-ci; des enzymes obtenues à partir de bactéries Rhodococcus rhodochrous ATCC No. 53968 ou un dérivé de celles-ci; ou un mélange desdites bactéries et desdites enzymes.
  5. Une méthode, conformément à la revendication 4, dans laquelle le biocatalyseur comprend une culture des bactéries Rhodococcus rhodochrous ATCC No. 53968.
  6. Une méthode, conformément à la revendication 3, comprenant l'étape additionnelle de mettre en contact le combustible fossile liquide avec une source d'oxygène avant l'incubation de l'étape (b)(ii), de sorte que la quantité d'oxygène, dans ledit combustible fossile, est augmentée, pour rehausser le taux d'enlèvement du soufre, à partir d'hétérocycles aromatiques portant du soufre, par le biocatalyseur.
