Abstract
885,817. Coating with metals. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 6, 1959 [March 18, 1958], No. 8716/58. Addition to 884,960. Class 82(2). [Also in Groups XVIII, XXII and XXXVI] An anode comprises a foraminate titanium sheet provided on at least a part of its surface with a coating of a platinum metal or of an alloy of two or more such metals. The term "platinum metal" includes ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, irridium and platinum. The coating of a platinum metal may be applied by welding a thin sheet or foil of the platinum metal to the titanium support, or by electrodeposition, roll-bonding, cathode sputtering vacuum deposition, metal spraying, rolling a platinum metal powder into the surface of a titanium sheet or painting a titanium structure with a conventional metallising solution and subsequently heating.
